In a battle of district two schools the Boiling Springs softball came out on top behind a homerun and a great defensive play to defeat Chesnee 2-1 in the Bulldogs last game before spring break on Tuesday night.
"I knew this was a good team when we played them a few weeks ago and I told our kids this wasn't going to be an easy one when we came over here as they've done a good job with this team," said Bulldogs head coach Randy Piazza. "I'm happy for our kids though as we didn't hit the ball exactly the way we wanted but we made things happen when we needed them." In a game that became a pitching duel between the Bulldogs' Olivia Hall and the Eagles' Paige Scruggs, along with a wind that was blowing in most of the night, any run that was scored was valuable on Tuesday night. Boiling Springs got the first run of the game in the top of the first inning after AD Raines reached base on an infield single down the third base line before moving over to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Hall. Raines scored the first run of the game when Ragan Bristol hit a single to right centerfield giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. In the bottom half of the first inning Hall didn't allow a baserunner inducing three straight flyballs off the Eagles bats. Hall didn't allow the Eagles a hit over the first three innings, in fact the first hit she allowed was to fellow pitcher Paige Scruggs with one out in the top of the fourth inning. After allowing a runner to get to second base in the fourth inning Hall didn't allow another hit until the final inning of play. While Hall was keeping the Eagles hitters off the bases, Scruggs was doing a similar performance against the Bulldogs as she only allowed three hits from the top of the second inning through the top of the the sixth inning. After five innings of scoreless play both teams had saved a lot of excitement for their final acts on Tuesday night. Boiling Springs got the excitement started in the top of the seventh inning on the first at-bat when Olivia Hall took the first pitch she saw over the left field wall to extend the Bulldogs lead to 2-0 over the homestanding Eagles. The Bulldogs were able to get runners to second and third with two outs but got thrown out on a steal attempt of home to end their side of the final inning. "I had a feeling early on that it was going to take at least two runs to win this game," said Piazza. "I'm thankful Olivia got that hit when she did because it turned out to be the difference maker in the game." When Chesnee came to bat in the bottom of the seventh inning, Hall was able to force two straight groundballs for outs. With two outs in the inning Maddie Handy came to the plate for the Eagles and lined a double to right centerfield to put herself in scoring position. Handy was followed to the plate by Kyleigh Thompson who lined a ball to left centerfield that brought home Handy to cut the Bulldogs lead to 2-1 but as Thompson turned for second base Bulldogs left fielder Alexis McFalls scooped up the ball and made a throw to Jacie Ross at second base that just beat Thompson to the base for the final out of the game. "It was a great play by our defense there to secure the win," said Piazza. "We work on relays all the time and she came up throwing to the bag just like we worked on in practice. Sometimes it doesn't work out like you practice it but tonight it did." With the win the Bulldogs take a win into their upcoming spring break and Coach Piazza believes that having that momentum heading into a break like this is big for any team, his included. "I told people that this was going to be one of our most crucial games of the year because you never want to go into a break on a down note," said Piazza. "You want to take that win and momentum going into spring break because it keeps your team on a positive note during the long break." Boiling Springs will be off now until April 12th when they travel to Nation Ford for a region matchup. Chesnee will return to play on Friday as they travel to Gaffney. The Boiling Springs lacrosse team used a strong rally over the last two minutes of the game but fell just short, as Clover came away with an 11-10 victory on Monday night.
After Clover scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter they held an 11-7 lead over the Bulldogs with just over three minutes to go in the game but the Bulldogs weren't going to just let them walk away with the victory without a fight. Micah Horton started the Bulldogs rally just inside the three minute mark when he found the back of the net off an assist from Riley Alfonso. Just forty seconds later the Bulldogs found the back of the net again when Mathias Oslund scored off an assist from Luke Olsen to narrow the Clover lead to 11-9. With 1:22 left on the clock the Bulldogs crowd erupted again when Luke Olsen emerged from behind the Clover net on the left side and then spun for a right handed shot that hit the back of the net to cut the Clover lead to one point at 11-10. While Clover tried to control the ball over the last minute of the game the Bulldogs were able to steal a Blue Eagles pass with fourteen seconds left when Boiling Springs head coach Justin Mills took a timeout to setup a last second play. After coming out of the timeout the Bulldogs got a shot at the goal that went just wide of the net allowing Clover to take control and melt the final seconds off with a deep throw to the other end of the field. One really impressive play on Monday night happened just before halftime when with just seconds left in the first half Bulldogs defender Adam Dulske cleared a ball the length of the field to Riley Alfonso, who caught the ball just outside the Clover goal before taking a shot that found the back of net just as the buzzer sounded for halftime. Brock Davis led the Bulldogs in goals on Monday night with four goals while Chase Miller led the team in assists with three of his own. Luke Olsen and Adam Dulske tied for loose balls controlled with eight each against the Blue Eagles. The Bulldogs controlled the faceoffs on Monday night winning sixteen of the twenty-four faceoffs including the last five of the game. Boiling Springs will return to play on Saturday when they travel to River Bluff for an out-of-region contest. On Monday night the Boiling Springs baseball team kicked off their final three game region series before spring break with a hard fought 6-4 victory over Nation Ford behind an impressive game at the plate from junior Tristan Smith.
"That's a big win as Nation Ford is a quality baseball team," said Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lipscomb. "We got an early lead behind two big hits from Tristan and we just had a great team effort. We started out slow this season but we just keep getting better and I'm just really proud of all nineteen of our guys." After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning the Bulldogs bats responded as Davis Starnes walked and came around to score on the next at-bat when Tristan Smith hit a homerun over the centerfield wall to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. The Bulldogs still lead 2-1 when they got their bats back to work in the bottom of the second inning as with one out in the inning Avery Stewart singled before moving over to third base on a double by Davis Starnes. With two runners on Tristan Smith returned to the plate for a replay of his first at-bat as he took a Falcons pitch to straight centerfield to give Boiling Springs a 5-1 lead at the end of the second inning. "Tristan is just a natural and he has talents that you just can't coach," said Lipscomb. "God has given that young man a lot of talent, whether it's swinging the bat or throwing a baseball, he's just got the 'it' factor. If he wasn't a great pitcher he could probably play college baseball as just an outfielder because that's the type of talent that he possesses." Nation Ford was able to narrow the lead to 5-4 but the Bulldogs got some great relief pitching from Carter Sloand who pitched the final three innings for the Bulldogs without allowing a run. Lipscomb said that having pitchers with the talent that his team has, that he can call on at any point is a blessing to have as a coach. "We feel like we're blessed with the amount of kids we have on this team that can come in and throw strikes to get people out," said Lipscomb. "I think we have six arms that can come in at anytime in a game. We struggled early on with defense and even though they were throwing strikes we weren't making the plays in the field. When we play defense like we did tonight it takes pressure off our pitchers when they know their defense is going to make those plays and if we keep getting better we're going to be alright." Boiling Springs added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Hudson Wilson reached base on a walk before stealing second base and coming around to score on a Falcons error to put the Bulldogs lead at 6-4. The Bulldogs and Falcons will play again Tuesday night at Nation Ford in a game originally scheduled for Wednesday, due to the threat of rain on Wednesday. There's an old saying that the best way to get over a loss is to just move on and the Boiling Springs softball team took that advice with authority as they defeated JL Mann 10-0 in six innings on Monday night.
"I told our girls this was a great way to bounce back," said Bulldogs head coach Randy Piazza. "I told them there was nothing we could do about what happened on Friday night but we could control what happened tonight and they did just that." After a strong first top of the first inning pitching from Bulldogs pitcher Olivia Hall, who was celebrating a birthday on Monday, that included two strikeouts the Boiling Springs bats got to work in the bottom half of the inning. AD Raines reached base on a single to centerfield on a 3-2 count and later advanced to second base on a steal to put the Bulldogs in scoring position early. With one out and Raines at second base Boiling Springs catcher Ragan Bristol hit a single to left centerfield to score the run giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Bri McAbee, who was pinch running for Bristol, came around to score on the next at-bat with Bri Stanley hit a double to right centerfield and extend the Bulldogs lead to 2-0 over the Patriots. After another scoreless top of the inning for JL Mann in the second inning, the Boiling Springs bats got to work in the bottom half of the inning as they batted through the lineup while scoring four runs. Sayde Parris started the inning for the Bulldogs with a single to left centerfield before being moved over to second on a sacrifice by Jacie Ross. Hailey Owens followed Ross with a double to right centerfield scoring Parris and giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Owens came around to score on a double to left field by Olivia Hall before she came around to score herself on a single by Bristol to right field giving the Bulldogs a 5-0 lead. McAbee stole second base before coming around to score on Bri Stanley's second straight double to right centerfield pushing the Boiling Springs lead to 6-0 over the Patriots. In the top of the third inning Hailey Owens entered the game to pitch for the Bulldogs in relief of Hall pitching four scoreless innings while registering five strikeouts and only allowing three batters to reach base. "We knew we had great pitching options going into the year and anytime we can get a chance to get Olivia a rest is a good thing especially with some big games coming up," said Piazza. "Hailey came in and done a great job for us tonight." The Bulldogs bats got back to work in the bottom of the third inning as Sayde Parris reached base on an infield single before coming around to score on a double down the left field line by Jacie Ross to give Boiling Springs a 7-0 lead. After advancing to third base on a wild pitch Ross came around to score on an Owens groundout to put the Bulldogs lead at 8-0 after three innings. The score stayed the same over the next two innings until the game reached the bottom of the sixth inning when Reese Smith reached base on a single before coming around to score on a double down the right field line by Bristol to put the Bulldogs up 9-0. After Bristol reached third on a stolen base she came around to score when a Patriots player mishandled a hard hit ball off the bat of Bri Stanley to give the Bulldogs the 10-0 victory. Ragan Bristol finished the night going four for four at the plate picking up three singles and a double along with three RBIs. The performance is nothing new to Coach Piazza as he says it's something he almost just expects from his senior catcher. "Ragan has been hot at the plate all year," said Piazza. "Even in games that haven't gone our way she's hit the ball well and you couldn't ask for a better team leader." Bristol said that her success at the plate this year has just been a desire to have fun in her senior year. "I'm just having fun with it being my senior year," said Bristol. "You go into the box and you don't want to think too much you want to play for your teammates behind you. I just want to enjoy every moment since it's my last year." The Bulldogs will return to play on Tuesday night as they travel to Chesnee in a game that was originally scheduled for Wednesday night. On Friday night the Boiling Springs softball team fell to Fort Mill 11-3 in their first home region game of the season.
Boiling Springs took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after AD Raines singled to left field and came around to score on a single by Ragan Bristol to right centerfield. Fort Mill answered in the top of the third inning when Olivia Poteat singled to right field before coming around to score on the next batter when Brynn Bartololini hit a triple to deep centerfield to tie the game at 1-1. Bartololini scored on the next batter when Ava Basinger singled to right field to give the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game at 2-1. The Bulldogs responded in the bottom of the third inning when Olivia Hall was hit by a pitch and later came around to score on the next at-bat off an error by the Yellow Jackets to tie the game at 2-2 at the end of the third inning. After sitting the Yellow Jackets down one, two, three in the top half of the fourth inning the Bulldogs retook the lead on the first batter in the bottom of the inning when Jaycie Osment hit a deep home run that hooked just inside the left field foul pole to give Boiling Springs a 3-2 lead. In the top of the fifth inning it became all Fort Mill though as they scored four runs in the inning off a grand slam to left centerfield by Emma Tisdale to give the Yellow Jackets a 6-3 lead. They extended their lead to 7-3 in the top of the sixth inning when Sydnye Spears singled to centerfield and later came around to score on a double to left centerfield by Bartololini. Fort Mill added four more runs in the top of the seventh inning as the first five Yellow Jackets players of the inning all registered a hit and accounted for all four runs in the inning. Boiling Springs will return to play on Monday as they host an out-of-region game against JL Mann. Boiling Springs entered region play on Friday for the first time in two years and didn't waste their opportunity as they came away with a 5-3 victory over Gaffney to improve to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in region play. With the Bulldogs trailing 2-1 and just under twelve minutes to go in the first half, with their only goal coming off a shot from sophomore midfielder Roberto Silva, that's when junior forward Christian Gonzalez-Calihu took over for the Bulldogs. As the clock ticked inside twelve minutes of the first half the Bulldogs were awarded a penalty shot for Gonzalez-Calihu who found the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2 as the game went into halftime. In the second half Gonzalez-Calihu got back to work scoring a quick goal to put the Bulldogs up 3-2 before Gaffney responded with a goal of their own to tie the game at 3-3. Over an eleven minute times span of the game, from the forty-four minute mark to the fifty-five minute marks, Gonzalez-Calihu scored his third and fourth goals of the game to put Boiling Springs ahead 5-3 and carry them to their first region win in two years. Boiling Springs will play again on Tuesday when they host Nation Ford in another region matchup. Girls GameBoiling Springs girls team was originally scheduled to start their season on Thursday but after heavy thunderstorms their first region matchup of the season got moved to Friday where they defeated Gaffney 4-1 as they opened region season on the road.
The Bulldogs started off rough in the first half as they struggled to find the goal as they found themselves tied 1-1 at halftime. In the second half though the Bulldogs got their offense going as they scored three unanswered goals to come away with a 4-1 region victory. Boiling Springs got goals from senior Skylar Young, junior Shiloh Worth, sophomore Kenturah Meadows, and sophomore Drey Nesbitt on Friday night. They will return to play on Tuesday as they travel to Nation Ford for another region matchup. After defeating Clover on Monday night to start region play, the Boiling Springs baseball team saw their rally fall just short as they fell to the Blue Eagles 8-5 in their first home region game of the season.
Clover jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first two innings behind singles in both innings from Dawson Wainscott and Walker Love that netted both players three RBIs each. In the top of the third inning the Blue Eagles made it 7-0 when Luke McCarter reached base on a walk before coming around to score on a Waylon Root infield single. Tristan Smith gave the Bulldogs their first run of the game when he hit a homerun to deep centerfield to cut the Clover lead to 7-1 at the end of the third inning. Clover made the score 8-1 in the top of the fifth inning Timothy Keefauver reached base on an error before coming around to score on a single by Root. Boiling Springs cut the Clover lead in half in the bottom of the fifth inning when Davis Starnes reached base on a walk before Tristan Smith followed with reaching base on a Clover error. With two runners on and two outs Boiling Springs' Will Holmes crushed a three run homer to right centerfield to put Clover's lead at 8-4 with two innings left to play. In the bottom of the sixth inning the Bulldogs added another run when Hudson Wilson reached base on a fielder's choice before coming around to score on a sacrifice bunt by Avery Stewart to cut the lead to 8-5. After holding Clover scoreless in the top of the seventh inning the Bulldogs were able to get two runners on in the bottom of the seventh inning as Holmes and Vance Wagner stood at first and second base. Bulldogs designated hitter Brent Fowler followed Wagner to the plate hiting a ball to centerfield that almost dropped in for a hit except for an amazing diving catch by Clover centerfielder Cooper Zohner that preserved the Blue Eagles victory. While the Bulldogs were unable to complete the comeback victory they did get a few impressive performances on Wednesday night as Will Holmes went two for two at the plate with a double and a three-run homerun along with a walk to go along with a hit-by-pitch. Carter Sloand also had a strong night in relief for the Bulldogs entering the game in the second inning while pitching three and a third innings of relief only allowing one earned run. Boiling Springs will return to action on Friday night when they travel to Clover to finish out the three game series against the Blue Eagles. On Tuesday evening the Boiling Springs softball team opened region play with a high scoring 15-7 road victory over Clover.
The Bulldogs got their game started with a single from shortstop AD Raines, who later came around to score on a groundout to third base by first baseman Bri Stanley to give Boiling Springs a 1-0 lead. After holding the Blue Eagles scoreless in the bottom of the first inning the Bulldogs went back to work with the bats as third baseman Kate Philbeck reached base on a single before coming around to score on a double to left field by Hailey Owens to extend the Bulldogs lead to 2-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning. In the bottom of the second inning Clover was able to score three runs on a single with two outs to give the Blue Eagles their first lead of the game at 3-2. Both teams were unable to get much going in the third inning as the only baserunner was a walk by Bulldogs catcher Ragan Bristol in the top half of the inning. In the top of the fourth inning the Bulldogs were able to tie the game at 3-3 when Samy Quintero reached base on a error before coming around to score on a Owens double to left field, her second double and second RBI of the game. Clover responded in the bottom half of the fourth inning by adding four more runs to take a 7-3 lead off three hits and three walks. In the top of the fifth inning the Bulldogs bats came to life as they scored six runs in the inning to take a 9-7 lead. The inning got started on an Olivia Hall double to right field before she came around to score on a double to centerfield by Ragan Bristol. After Bristol reached base, an error followed by a walk loaded the bases for the Bulldogs. With the bases loaded Samy Quintero hit a ball to the left side of the infield and the Clover defense committed another error that allowed Bri McAbee to score (who had pinch ran for Bristol) and keep the bases loaded. With the bases still loaded Owens walked to the plate to deliver her third double of the game, this time to centerfield, brining home both Kate Philbeck and Quintero for her third and fourth RBIs of the game to put the Bulldogs back in front. AD Raines added to the Bulldogs lead by doubling to right field and bringing home Owens as the Bulldogs batted through their whole lineup in the fifth inning. In the top of the sixth inning Boiling Springs extended their lead when Bri Stanley hit a towering homerun to deep left centerfield to give the Bulldogs a 10-7 lead. When the top of the seventh inning arrived the Bulldogs bats hadn't cooled off as they added five more runs in the inning. With one out in the inning AD Raines reached base for the third time in the game on a double to right field before coming around to score on a triple by Olivia Hall. Hall extended the Boiling Springs lead to 12-7 when she came home on a sacrifice fly to right field by Bristol with two outs. Stanley followed Bristol with a double and was joined on base by Sayde Parris who worked a walk to put two runners on base. Centerfielder Jaycie Osment followed Parris with her second hit of the game, this time a three run homer to left field that put the Bulldogs ahead 15-7 in a game they once trailed 7-3. While the Bulldogs bats were on fire in the final three innings they were able to keep the Blue Eagles bats silent over the last three innings with only one Clover runner allowed to reach second base. Boiling Springs will return to action on Friday night in another region matchup when they host Fort Mill. On Monday evening the Boiling Springs baseball team (3-4, 1-0) opened up region play in impressive fashion, coming away with a 10-2 road victory over Clover.
Boiling Springs opened up the game taking an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning off the bat of Jamison Bagwell who singled home a Bulldogs runner before extending their lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning off a home run to deep left centerfield from Bulldogs third baseman Davis Starnes. Clover was able to add two runs in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at 2-2 without the Blue Eagles picking up a hit. In the top of the fourth inning Boiling Springs took control of the game as they scored five runs to extend their lead to 7-2 over Clover. Avery Stewart started the scoring i the fourth inning as he singled home a run on a 2-0 count before the Bulldogs added two more runs on an error by the Blue Eagles. Jamison Bagwell added to the Bulldogs lead on a double to left field picking up his second and third RBIs of the game. While their bats were having a great night Boiling Springs also got an outstanding performance on the mound from left hander Tristan Smith who threw four innings for the Bulldogs without allowing a hit while striking out nine Clover batters. Dylan Anderson came on in relief for the Bulldogs and continued the excellent performance by the Boiling Springs pitchers as he threw the final three innings allowing only four hits while striking out two. The Bulldogs had nine of their eleven batters on Monday pick up a hit which is an encouraging sign for Boiling Springs as they start region play. Jamison Bagwell and Davis Starnes led the Bulldogs offensive attack as both hitters picked up two hits each on Monday night with Bagwell coming away with three RBIs while Will Holmes and Hudson Wilson both added two RBIs of their own. Boiling Springs will return to action on Monday night when they host the same Clover team in a home region matchup with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 PM. Bulldogs Softball Opens Lady Rebels Invitational With Four Homer Game And Combined No-Hitter3/19/2021
On Friday afternoon the Boiling Springs softball team competed in the opening round of the Lady Rebel Invitational coming away with a 9-3 victory over Chesnee and a 12-0 victory over Wade Hampton.
"It was a great way to start off this tournament," said Bulldogs head coach Randy Piazza. "The way we came out hitting the ball with our leadoff hitters getting on and then getting four homers in that one game along with coming from behind early in that first game it was big." Boiling Springs started off their afternoon falling behind 2-0 to Chesnee as Mattie Martin reached base on a walk and Ali Scruggs followed with a double to left field to put runners at second and third. Sam Carver hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Martin and Paige Scruggs followed with a groundout to third base to bring home Ali Scruggs. The Bulldogs responded to the deficit with some fire power of their own as A.D. Raines and Olivia Hall both reached base on back-to-back singles to left field before catcher Ragan Bristol hit a towering shot over the left field wall for a three run homer to give Boiling Springs a 3-2 lead. After Bristol's homer, first baseman Bri Stanley walked and centerfielder Jaycie Osment reached base on a bunt single to put two runners on for the Bulldogs. Sadie Parris followed Osment with a deep homerun for the Bulldogs to right field for their second three run homer of the inning to give Boiling Springs a 6-2 lead as the Bulldogs batted through the order in the first inning. In the top of the second inning Chesnee's Shenandoah Bishop started the Eagles inning with a double to left centerfield but that's all the Eagles were able to get as Bulldogs pitcher Olivia Hall struck out the next two batters followed by a groundout to third base. A.D. Raines started off the Bulldogs side of the second inning with a double down the left field line and was followed up by Olivia Hall who hit a two run homer to deep left centerfield for the Bulldogs third homerun of the game, extending their lead to 8-2 over the Eagles. Two batters after Hall's homerun the Bulldogs hit their fourth of the game, when Bri Stanley connected on a pitch that landed over the left field fence to give Boiling Springs a 9-2 lead. In the top of the fourth inning Chesnee was able to get the bases loaded with one out but Hall was able to pitch out of trouble striking out an Eagles batter for the second out and forcing a flyball to third base for the final out. Hall finished the first game with seven strikeouts while only allowing three runs on eight hits. Chesnee was able to add another run in top of the sixth inning when Shenandoah Bishop reached base on a single before coming around to score on a single by Emily Pruett to put the Bulldogs lead at 9-3. In the second game the Bulldogs bats didn't cool off as they outscored Wade Hampton 6-0 in the first inning. After getting two outs to start the bottom half of the first inning Ragan Bristol started the Bulldogs bats six run inning with a double to left field. Bristol came around to score on the next at-bat when Bri Stanley doubled to right centerfield for a 1-0 Boiling Springs lead. Stanley moved to third base on a Jaycie Osment single to right field before she moved to second on a stolen base. Kate Philbeck worked a walk on the next at-bat to load the bases. On the next at-bat Sadie Parris reached base on an error that brought home both Stanley and Osment to put the Bulldogs up 3-0. Following Philbeck and Parris, Samy Quintero worked a walk before all three came around to score on a single to right field by Hailey Owens to put the Bulldogs up 6-0 at the end of the first inning. Jacie Ross opened the second inning for the Bulldogs with a single to left field before coming around to score on a double by Stanley to left field. Grace Geddes followed Stanley with a single and was followed by Philbeck reaching base on an error that brought home Stanley to push the Bulldogs lead to 8-0. Sadie Parris followed Philbeck with an infield single that brought home Geddes to push the lead to 9-0 and the Bulldogs later made it 10-0 when A.D. Raines singled to left field to bring home Philbeck. Stanley started off the fourth inning with her second homerun of the day, when she hit a homer to left field to push to the Bulldogs lead to 11-0. After a lineout to third by the Bulldogs, Philbeck reached base on a single before moving to second on an infield single by Alexis McFalls. Philbeck came around to score on a double by Reese Smith to put the Bulldogs up 12-0. While the Bulldogs were busy scoring runs in the second game their pitchers were busy putting on an impressive performance from the pitching circle. Olivia Hall pitched the first inning striking out two and getting a grounder to first with the only blemish being a hit batsmen. From the second inning on though it was all Bri Stanley as she only allowed one baserunner on a walk, that was later picked off by catcher Sadie Parris at first base. Stanley pitched the final four innings striking out eight batters as both pitchers combined to pitch a five inning combined no-hitter. "Our kids came in here tonight with a lot of enthusiasm and they're excited about where we're heading as long as we continue doing what we need to do," said Piazza. "When they asked me at the beginning of the year I told people the depth of our pitching staff is pretty good. I feel like we have three pretty good pitchers and when you can use any of the three to give the others a break that's good for your team." With the two wins Boiling Springs enters play in the gold bracket of the tournament and will return to play in the Lady Rebel Invitational on Saturday at 11:00 AM when they face the winner of Pool F (Seneca, Broome, or Greer). |
