With the 2020-2021 school year coming towards an end Camden Earls became the thirtieth Boiling Springs athlete to sign to continue their athletic career at the college level next season.
Earls signed to continue his basketball career at Erskine College next season after spending the past two seasons as one of the leaders of the Boiling Springs basketball team. He said that it was tough to narrow down his choice dpwn but he's looking forward to joining the Flying Fleet program. "It was a really hard decision because I had a lot of schools talk to me but I wanted to find somewhere that wasn't far from home," said Earls. "I'm excited to go down there to meet my teammates, bond with them, and hopefully win some games." Earls said that the bond he felt with the coaching staff also played a role in his decision. "I have a real bond with the coaches," said Earls. "I'm looking forward to getting to be coached by that group. They're looking for someone that can shoot the ball and facilitate it as well which is two attributes that I'm good at and I feel I'll fit perfect into their system." Earls isn't the only Bulldogs athlete to sign with Erskine since the Boiling Springs signing day in April as Boiling Springs softball player Samy Quinterro also signed with the Flying Fleet program. On Friday night the Boiling Springs baseball team needed to win two games to advance to the Upper State championship series and while they accomplished the first half of the goal, the second half fell just short as they dropped the second game 4-3 to Hillcrest in eight innings.
In the first game the Bulldogs came away with an 8-5 victory which started when they jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the first inning after Tristan Smith reached base on a single before coming around to score on a single by Hudson Wilson. Hillcrest grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning when they scored two runs with two outs including on a balk and a wild pitch. The Bulldogs responded in the top of the third inning with a little two out damage of their own when Jimmy Rosengrant hit a two run homer down the left field line to score both himself and Hudson Wilson giving Boiling Springs a 3-2 lead. The Rams added two runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings to tie the game and then take a 4-3 lead over the Bulldogs heading into the fifth inning. Boiling Springs tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning when Vance Wagner reached base on an error before Richie Lewis, who was pinch running for Wagner, came around to score on another Hillcrest error. Will Holmes gave the Bulldogs some cushion in the top of the sixth inning when he hit a three-run home run to left field scoring himself as well as Avery Stewart and Riley Douglas, who was pinch running for Tristan Smith, to give Boiling Springs a 7-4 lead. Hillcrest added a run back in the bottom of the sixth inning when Landon Thursten scored from second base on a Jacob Calvert double to left field to cut the Bulldogs lead to 7-5 after six innings. Boiling Springs added a run in the top of the seventh inning when Luke Compton reached base on an infield single down the third base line before stealing second base and coming around to score on a single to centerfield by Avery Stewart to give the Bulldogs an 8-5 victory. The Bulldogs got six strong innings of work from pitcher Tristan Smith who struck out seven Rams batters while allowing five runs to pick up the victory while Carter Sloand pitched the final inning to pick up the save. In game two Boiling Springs starting pitcher Will Holmes struck out six of the first seven batters that he faced to keep the game scoreless through the first two innings of play. Boiling Springs took the first lead of the game in the top of the third inning when Tristan Smith and Will Holmes were both hit by a pitch with two outs in the inning before Smith came around to score on a single by Vance Wagner to right field giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead and moving Holmes to third base. On the next at-bat Holmes came in to score on a balk by the Hillcrest pitcher to give Boiling Springs a 2-0 lead at the end of the third inning. Hillcrest cut the lead in half when they scored in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the Bulldogs lead to 2-1. In the top of the fifth inning Boiling Springs pushed their lead back to 3-1 when Tristan Smith reached base on a single before advancing to third base on back-to-back wild pitches and coming in to score on a single to centerfield by Hudson Wilson. Hillcrest made the lead 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning but still trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning after the Bulldogs were unable to score in the top of the inning. The Rams Conner David reached base in the bottom of the seventh inning off a Bulldogs error before advancing to second base on a hit by pitch and moving to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Hunter Jagodzinski. David tied the game at 3-3 when he scored on a sacrifice fly to left field by Jacob Calvert. In the top of the eighth inning the Bulldogs were unable to get a score which set up the Rams for a chance at their first lead of the game and also a chance to win the game. Brady Jeffcoat opened the eighth inning for the Rams by reaching base on an error and moved to third base after a walk and a hit by pitch. With the bases loaded and one out, Jeffcoat came home to score on single to left field by Conner David to give the Rams a 4-3 victory and punching their ticket to the Upper State championship series. Boiling Springs got another impressive pitching performance from senior Will Holmes who pitched six innings while allowing only two runs and striking out ten Rams batters. The Rams will move on to face Dorman in the Upper State championship series starting on Monday at Dorman. Boiling Springs used an impressive pitching performance to go along with a strong defensive effort from their infield to defeat Byrnes 9-0 on Wednesday night, punching their ticket into the district championship game on Friday night at Hillcrest.
"I can't say enough about our guys," said Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lipscomb. "The guys were intense tonight and just battled." After dropping a nail biter on Friday night to the Rebels the Bulldogs were determined to not have history repeat itself. In the first inning both teams went scoreless and in the top of the second inning the Rebels tried to get the first run of the game with two outs. With Hunter Lancaster standing at second base for the Rebels, Carson Cassidy hit a ball up the middle that seemed destined for the outfield but a great diving stop by Bulldogs second baseman Jimmy Rosengrant followed by a strong throw to first base kept the game scoreless. Boiling Springs carried the momentum from the strong defensive play into the bottom of the second inning as it led to their first lead of the game. After the first two batters were unable to reach base, the Bulldogs got their first runner on base in the inning when Luke Compton worked an 0-2 count into a walk. Jamison Bagwell followed Compton with a single to left field before Avery Stewart loaded the bases when he was hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded Davis Starnes picked up an infield single to score Compton giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead before Starnes was followed by Tristan Smith who was hit by a pitch to score Bagwell and give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead after two innings of play. Neither team scored a run in the third and fourth innings but in the bottom of the fifth inning the Bulldogs bats got back to work as they scored four runs while also batting through the lineup. Will Holmes started off the fifth inning with a double to the right field corner before Vance Wagner followed with a walk to put two runners on with no outs. Hudson Wilson followed Wagner with a single to left centerfield that scored Holmes giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Jimmy Rosengrant, who was having a great day in the field including five putouts, followed Wilson with a single to left field allowing Riley Douglas, who was pinch running for Wagner, to score and push the Bulldogs lead to 4-0 over the Rebels. With one out Bagwell was hit by a pitch to load the bases for the Bulldogs when Starnes hit a double to right field scoring both Wilson and Rosengrant to put the Boiling Springs lead at 6-0 after five innings. The Bulldogs bats got back to work in the bottom of the sixth inning as Vance Wagner reached base on an infield single before Douglas, who was pinch running for Wagner, moved to third base on a bunt single by Wilson. Rosengrant picked up his second RBI of the game in the inning when he hit a double to right centerfield to score Wilson making the score 8-0 in favor of the Bulldogs, after Douglas scored on a wild pitch earlier in the at-bat. Rosengrant made the score 9-0 when he scored from second base on a single to right field by Luke Compton as the Bulldogs added to their lead heading into the final inning. Boiling Springs got an impressive pitching outing on Wednesday night from Landon Ellis as he pitched six innings while only allowing three hits and striking out four Byrnes batters. "I've got to tip my hat to Landon tonight," said Lipscomb. "He's a man of few words but tonight he just showed what he can do. We knew throughout the year he could do it and his off-speed stuff is as good as anyone's we've seen." Carter Sloand pitched the final inning for the Bulldogs not allowing a hit with the final two outs coming on ground balls to the infield. The Bulldogs infield recorded fifteen of the twenty-one outs on Wednesday night including four double plays which Lipscomb says is a credit to the work his players and coaches have put in to get better throughout the year. "I can't say enough about our guys as they show up everyday and put in the work," said Lipscomb. "They take their groundballs and listen to their coaches, Coach Goodwin does a great job with our infielders and Coach Goff does a great job with our pitchers, and tonight it was just really good. The scouting report on Boiling Springs was 'good pitching but no defense' and that may have been us early but to see how much better we have gotten over this season just gives me chills." With the victory the Bulldogs will head to Hillcrest to play for a chance at a spot in the Upper State championship series but will have to defeat the Rams twice on Friday night to make that happen. Lipscomb says his team is looking forward to the opportunity and hopes the Boiling Springs fanbase continues the great support for his team at Hillcrest that they've gotten all this week. "With those two guys (Tristan Smith and Will Holmes) on the mound if we swing the bats like we did tonight we're in good shape," said Lipscomb. "Those guys are two of the best lefties in the state and we're ready to go to Hillcrest. Our fans have been outstanding this whole week and our guys built off their excitement, with all that combined we know we can beat anyone in the state and we're looking forward to getting back to work." The first game on Friday night will start at 5:30 PM and if necessary the second game will start thirty minutes after the end of the first game. After winning four straight state championships from 2014-2017, including the first ever 5A state championship, the Boiling Springs golf team returned to the top of the mountain top in 5A golf on Tuesday by shooting a two day score of 583 to capture their fifth golf state championship at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, SC.
The Bulldogs defeated ended the tournament fifteen shots ahead of second place Fort Mill and seventeen ahead of third place Dorman. ”This one means a lot because we had a really good team there for about five years,” said Bulldogs head coach Josh Pruitt. “To be able to start fresh and do it again that’s just unbelievable. I’m super proud of these boys and couldn’t ask for anything better.” Boiling Springs jumped out to an early lead on Monday as they shot a score of 293, which left them with an eight shot advantage over second place teams Fort Mill and Dorman. Zach Phillips led the Bulldogs on day one shooting a one under 71 to put him in a tie for fourth place just ahead of teammate Andrew Gregory who shot an even par 72. On day two the Bulldogs kept us their strong play and Phillips saved his best performance for his final nine holes of his high school career. After shooting a one over par on the front nine to put his score at even for the tournament, Phillips attacked the back nine in impressive fashion shooting a four under par on the back nine for a second day score of 69 and an overall score of 140 over the two days to capture the individual state championship honors as well. “Zach has that extra gear mentally that very few people have,” said Pruitt. “He knew he had a shot after yesterday to win it and he attacked that back nine and won it. I’m just really proud of him.” With the individual championship Phillips joins his brother Trent Phillips, who plays at Georgia now, as players to have both won the individual honor while also winning the team championship. ”I started off alright then I had a few holes that weren’t great but then I regrouped on the back nine,” said Phillips. “It’s great winning this an individual but it’s even better winning it as a team. It’s nice now to know I get a little bragging rights with my brother now.” Phillips also said it was great getting to end his high school career on a winning note. ”It’s an awesome feeling knowing this is how I end my last high school event,” said Phillips. “I feel like it’s going to be a very memorable moment when I look back on it in the future and to know we went out with a bang.” Phillips was joined on the All-State team by fellow Bulldogs Davis Hill (146) and Andrew Gregory (146). Walker Greene (151) and Clayton Taylor (158) also had strong outings for the Bulldogs over the two day tournament as they delivered the program their first state championship in four years. ”We had a lot of strong finishes this year but we knew going into today there were some teams that could defeat us if we didn’t play our best,” said Pruitt. “It feels great to be back on top and hopefully we can stay there.” After going scoreless on Friday night the Boiling Springs baseball team got their bats going early defeating Northwestern 8-0 on Monday night to stay alive in the 5A playoffs.
"We hit a lot better tonight than we did Friday night," said Bulldogs head coach Jeff Lipscomb. "We had a lot of kids just trying too hard so we done a lot of work today in batting practice working on the basics." After keeping the Trojans off the scoreboard in top of the first inning the Bulldogs got to work in the bottom half of the inning as with one out Tristan Smith reached base on a Northwestern error. Smith moved to third base on a double to left field by Will Holmes before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Vance Wagner to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. Riley Douglas, who was pinch running for Holmes, made the score 2-0 when he came home from third on a single to right field by Hudson Wilson at the end of the first inning. Jimmy Rosengrant started the bottom of the second inning with a single to centerfield before stealing second base and coming around to score on a double down the right field line by Luke Compton giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Compton was followed by Jamison Bagwell and Avery Stewart to load the bases before Compton got thrown out at home on a fielder's choice to second base by Davis Starnes. With the bases loaded and one out the Bulldogs got their big hit of the inning when Tristan Smith hit a double down the left field line to clear the bases bringing home Bagwell, Stewart, and Starnes to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead when the second inning was over. "Tristan is a free swinger," said Lipscomb. "He started off real hot early this season but kind of cooled off some here lately. It's good to see him get some big hits tonight and I'm really proud of him." Hudson Wilson started off the third inning with a walk before coming around to score with two outs on an Avery Stewart single to right field to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead. Wilson pushed the Bulldogs lead to 8-0 in the fifth inning when he started the inning getting hit by a pitch before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly to left field by Jamison Bagwell. While the Bulldogs bats came out strong they also got good nights on the mound from their pitchers. Will Holmes started the game off going four and two-thirds innings striking out five while only allowing three hits. "Will is as good of a pitcher as I've had here," said Lipscomb. "I think he's 8-0 now and a leader. He just loves to compete and win." They also got strong pitching performances from Dylan Anderson who pitched an inning and a third striking out one while only allowing a hit. Landon Ellis pitched the final inning for the Bulldogs not allowing a hit and striking out the first batter he faced. The Bulldogs will now turn their focus to a Byrnes team, who fell to Hillcrest on Monday night 8-0 and the Bulldogs have faced three times already this season and fell to on Friday night in an eight inning game that was a nail biter. The game against Byrnes will be held at Bulldogs Park on Wednesday night as the winner will travel to Hillcrest, where they will have to beat the Rams twice, for a chance at a spot in the Upper State championship series. With the bases loaded and Boiling Springs down two runs, Bulldogs hitter Will Holmes hit a bat to deep centerfield that took the Byrnes centerfielder all the way to the outfield wall but the ball didn't have quite enough to go over the fence as the Rebels came away with a 2-0 victory in the first round of the 5A playoffs on Friday night.
Boiling Springs started the game out strong as the first twelve outs of the game came from strikeouts off the arm of Bulldogs pitcher Tristan Smith, who recorded thirteen strikeouts in his five innings of work. In the top of the fifth inning Byrnes was able to get runners at first and second base when Rebels hitter Hunter Lancaster hit a single to right field but a great throw from Bulldogs right fielder Will Holmes nailed a Rebels runner at the plate to keep the game scoreless. Bulldogs reliever Carter Sloand came on to pitch in relief of Smith in the sixth inning striking out four batters over the sixth and seventh innings keeping the Rebels off the board, including pitching out of a bases loaded situation in the top of the seventh inning. With two outs in the top of the eighth inning runners at first and second base, the Bulldogs thought they had gotten a called third strike but the pitch was called the other way. As it goes in situations like that, on the very next pitch Rebels hitter Grayson Selepes dropped a hit between three Bulldogs fielders that just missed the diving glove of one of those defenders to score Kadan Roach giving the Rebels a 1-0 lead. Carson Cassidy made it a 2-0 lead in favor of the Rebels when he scored on a single to left field by Mason Fulmer. In the bottom of the eighth inning Jimmy Rosengrant worked a walk to start the inning before moving to second two batters later when Avery Stewart was hit by a pitch. Davis Starnes moved both runners up one base on a single to right field to load the bases. After a Bulldogs strikeout it came down to Holmes at the plate and with his at-bat he hit the ball as far as a ball can be hit to centerfield without leaving the park. While Smith and Sloand had strong nights on the mound for the Bulldogs, Byrnes also got a strong night from their starting pitcher Gabe Rogers who pitched seven and a third innings without allowing a run while striking out seven Bulldogs batters. Rogers picked up the win for the Rebels while Connor Kuhne faced the last two Bulldogs batters to pick up the save for the Rebels. Boiling Springs will host Northwestern on Monday night while Byrnes will travel to Hillcrest, who defeated Northwestern 5-3 on Friday night. On Thursday night the Boiling Springs softball team finished out their 2020 season with an impressive 15-0 win over Laurens in five innings as they said goodbye to seven seniors. The victory over Laurens was the final game in a Bulldogs jersey for seniors Olivia Hall, Reese Smith, Samy Quintero, Jaycie Osment, Katie Roberts, Hailey Owens, and Ragan Bristol.
"That's the best way they could go out as seniors and it was a very sentimental night," said Bulldogs head coach Randy Piazza. "You set out a goal at the start of the season to get into the playoffs and to go to a state championship but I wouldn't take any of that for these kids. This team went through some hard times but they overcame it and how they've played the last few games I wouldn't take it for anything." Boiling Springs held Laurens off the board in the top of the first inning and then got to work in the bottom half of the inning. Samy Quintero reached base on an error before moving to second base on an Olivia Hall walk. Quintero and Alexis McFalls, who was pinch running for Hall, made the Bulldogs lead 2-0 when they scored on a double to left field by Ragan Bristol. Bri McAbee, who was pinch running for Bristol, made the score 3-0 in favor of the Bulldogs when she scored on a double to right centerfield by Bri Stanley before Stanley came around to score on a single by Jaycie Osment to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead at the end of the first inning. The second inning saw the Bulldogs score three more runs as it started when Quintero reached base on a walk before moving to second when Hall was hit by a pitch. Bristol worked a walk to load the bases before Stanley was hit by a pitch to bring home Quintero giving the Bulldogs a 5-0 lead. Hailey Owens followed Stanley with a single to left field scoring McFalls to put the Bulldogs ahead 6-0 over Laurens. Osment followed Owens with a double to left centerfield to bring home Stanley giving the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead after two innings. In the bottom of the third inning the Bulldogs added three more runs with two outs which also started when Quintero reached base on a bunt single. Hall brought Quintero home on a two-run homer to left centerfield giving the Bulldogs a 9-0 lead. Bristol followed Hall with a double to left field before McAbee, who was running for Bristol, scored on a single to left centerfield to make the Bulldogs lead 10-0 after three innings. Boiling Springs got another strong inning at the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning as they scored five runs that started with a triple to right field by Reese Smith, who then scored on a Kate Philbeck single to centerfield. Philbeck moved to second base on an infield single by Quintero before the Bulldogs loaded the bases when Hall worked a walk. With the bases loaded and in her final at-bat as a Bulldogs softball player, Ragan Bristol hit a towering grand slam over the left field wall that landed on the other side of the road that runs behind the field giving the Bulldogs a 15-0 lead. "These kids don't realize it now but when you do something like what Ragan did there on senior night she'll look back on it the rest of her life and tell her kids one day what she done on her senior night, her last game at home" said Piazza. "All of the seniors had great games: Sammy had the night of her life, Jaycie came up with a big hit, they all just done something special and it's something they'll all look back and be proud of years later. There's more to life than just softball and that's what we learned this year. I wouldn't take this year back for nothing." Olivia Hall started the game for the Bulldogs pitching two innings while striking out five different Raiders batters. Hailey Owens pitched the final three innings for the Bulldogs striking out two while also getting an amazing diving catch at second base by fellow senior Katie Roberts. All seven seniors came away with a hit on Thursday night as Samy Quintero, Olivia Hall, and Ragan Bristol reached base on all four of their plate appearances over four innings. Bristol led the Bulldogs in RBIs coming away with six RBIs in her final game while Osment and Hall came away with two RBIs each as well. Boiling Springs finishes the 2020 season with a 17-9 overall record while finishing 4-4 in region play. With Boiling Springs softball leading 7-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning and two runners on base, the song "Kaw-Liga" by Hank Williams Jr rang through the stadium which meant senior catch Ragan Bristol was coming to the plate and four pitches later she took a Gaffney pitch over the right centerfield wall giving the Bulldogs a 10-0 win in their final region matchup of the season.
"It feels good as all my girls had my back and I couldn't be any happier," said Bristol. "My first couple of at-bats I never really got a solid pitch but the girls behind me were hitting which allowed us to get up. The pitcher made a mistake on that last pitch and I was able to get a good swing on it to send us home." Boiling Springs head coach Randy Piazza said he was glad to see something like that happen for his seniors in their last region game. "I told Ragan that you get a hit like that in one of your last games as a senior and you'll never forget it," said Piazza. "I was hoping something good like that would happen." The Bulldogs jumped ahead in the bottom of the first inning as pitcher Olivia Hall got their first hit of the game on a double to right centerfield before Bri McAbee, who was pinch running for Hall, came around to score on a double by Bristol down the right field line. Alexis McFalls, who pinch ran for Bristol, made the score 2-0 when she scored on a single by Bri Stanley to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead after the first inning. In the top of the third inning the Bulldogs got some big plays from their middle infield to help keep the shutout intact. With one on and one out Gaffney's Abigail Price hit a double to right centerfield to give the Indians runners at second and third base. On the next at-bat the Gaffney hitter hit a hard line drive that was snagged out of the air by Bulldogs shortstop Jaycie Osment on a diving catch to keep the runners at second and third. The next Gaffney batter then hit a groundball between first and second base that was stopped by a diving Bulldogs second baseman Jacie Ross and thrown on to first to keep the Bulldogs ahead 2-0. "Our shortstop and second baseman made ESPN type plays there to help keep the lead," said Piazza. Ross added to the Bulldogs lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as she reached base on a single before moving to second on a sacrifice by Kate Philbeck. Ross moved to third on a wild pitch and then came home to score on another wild pitch to Hall to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Bri Stanley started the bottom of the fifth inning with a double to right centerfield before Sammy Quintero, who was pinch running for Stanley, moved to third base on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by Hailey Owens. Quintero made the score 4-0 when she scored on an Osment single to centerfield before moving to second base on a single to right field by Sayde Parris. Osment made the score 5-0 when she came home on a Gaffney error that allowed Parris to move to third base and Ross to reach base along with advancing to second base. Parris made the score 6-0 when she scored on an infield single by AD Raines before Ross came around to score on a wild pitch to Olivia Hall that made the score 7-0 before Hall reached base on a walk. Bristol then ended the game with her three-run homer to give the Bulldogs the victory due to the ten run rule after five innings. Boiling Springs pitcher Olivia Hall had a good night from the pitching circle as she pitched all five innings not allowing a run while striking out six Gaffney batters on Tuesday night. "Olivia struck out six and pitched well tonight along with having a good night at the plate," said Piazza. On Thursday night the Boiling Springs program will honor their seven seniors and Piazza says it's a group that deserves to be honored because of their success at the school. "This group of seniors has been here a long time and they're the group I started with," said Piazza. "These girls have over 150 wins with only like forty losses and that says a lot about this group of seniors and the program they've help build. You always want good things to happen for your seniors and while we fell just short of the playoffs, for them to come out here and keep competing says a lot about them. I'm still very proud of these kids and this program because they've done a lot." Boiling Springs will return to play on Thursday night when they host Laurens for their final game of the season as they will honor the seniors prior to the start of the game. After almost a year the Boiling Springs athletic department has found their new athletic director in Westwood administrator Evan Moxie, who was approved in a vote by the Spartanburg County District Two school board at their monthly school board meeting on Tuesday night. Moxie takes over the full time job after former athletic director Hal McManus left for Socastee this past June and from Rick Tate who has been serving as the interim athletic director since McManus left.
Moxie has spent his last fourteen years working in education as a head wrestling coach, head strength coach, varsity football assistant, assistant AD and a full time administrator. He spent the last year as an administrator at Westwood High School in Columbia, SC but prior to that was the head wrestling coach at River Bluff High School for five seasons. As wrestling coach at River Bluff he won four straight region titles, two lower state titles, and also won the 5A state championship in 2017, in their fourth year of competition. Prior to his time at River Bluff he also coached at Lugoff-Elgin and Cardinal Newman high schools where he won multiple state titles in wrestling between both schools. Moxie said that his desire to join the Boiling Springs athletic program came from admiring how the Bulldogs teams competed when he's been in competition against them over the years and when the opportunity came to lead the program it was a chance that he couldn't turn down. "Through my years of coaching I've had the opportunity to compete against and watch teams from Boiling Springs in action," said Moxie. "I've always admired the effort and competitiveness that the players and coaches displayed. When the position became open I knew that this would be an awesome opportunity and after meeting with members of the leadership team at Boiling Springs I was left with no doubt that this is where I wanted to spend the rest of my career." Moxie said that when he evaluates teams he has three key characteristics that all teams should have in common and he feels certain the teams at Boiling Springs share in these beliefs as well. He believes that the athletes should be great achievers in the classroom, always competing regardless of the score, and that both players and coaches should always show great discipline. "When attempting to evaluate sports teams I feel as though there are some key attributes that they should all have in common," said Moxie. "I feel certain that the programs I will be working with at Boiling Springs share these traits and I will work diligently to provide them the support they need to make Boiling Springs the premier athletic department in the state of South Carolina." Moxie is originally from Canton, OH and moved to South Carolina in 2007. He will be joined in his move to Boiling Springs by his wife Jessica and their three sons Brayden (7), Whitt (1), and a third son due in October. |
