Just a day after having two players named to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas the Boiling Springs football team had another postseason award head its way on Monday afternoon as cornerback Storm Duck was named to the North team of the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl football game.
Duck is committed to play football at the University of North Carolina next season. He has three interceptions on the season as most teams have tried to stay away from him this season. He will be joined by other local players as Spartanburg's Jay Girdner and Moe Wedman, Broome's Brenden Taylor, Byrnes' Ben Henson, Chapman's Jaylan Smith, Dorman's Gabe Thompson and Zack Hillstock, Gaffney's Daylan Littlejohn and Hunter Bullock will all be part of this year's North team. The North-South game will be played at Coastal Carolina University on Saturday December 15, 2018 at noon. The North team will be coached by Christ Church's Don Frost while Broome head coach Lynn Fleming and former Byrnes and current Clover head coach Brian Lane will be assistant coaches.
