On Thursday morning Boiling Springs saw six athletes sign to continue their athletics career on the collegiate level next season. The signing includes two players that were members of the boys golf team, that has won four state championships, as Trent Phillips signed with the University of Georgia and Harrison Corbin signed with the University of South Carolina. Phillips is a five time All-Region player, four time All-State player and a record tying three time individual State Champion. He will be joining his brother Trevor at the University of Georgia and said about his commitment to Georgia, "I just wanted to find somewhere that I felt comfortable and that's what I found there. I just really love the atmosphere and the campus." Corbin is also leaving a legacy with the Bulldogs' golf team as he is a five time All-Region player and a three time All-State player. When asked about his commitment to the South Carolina he said, "It has been my dream school since I started playing and I grew up a fan." The two teammates will soon be competitors on the golf course in the SEC and when asked about that Corbin said "We've always been on the same team but that competition against each other should be fun." The Bulldogs girls lacrosse team also had two players sign on Thursday as Maegan Easler and Sam Pelkey both signed to play lacrosse with North Greenville next year. Easler has been a member of the lacrosse program since 2015 and is a two-year letterman as a midfielder. Easler said about her commitment to North Greenville, "We have a connection there with our old coach now being over there and it doesn't hurt to have a teammate going there also." Pelkey has also been a member of the lacrosse program since 2015 and is a two-year letterman as a defender. Pelkey said about her commitment to North Greenville "I really love the campus and the fact that is a Christian university." Emily Hill a member of the 2017 Bulldogs Region Championship team committed to North Greenville University. Hill is a three time All-Region softball player. When asked about the commitment to North Greenville Hill said, "I love the coaches and just love the atmosphere. The faith based environment is also really important to me." Kelsey Elliot a member of the Bulldogs volleyball team committed to Converse College on Thursday. Elliot was a captain and four year letterman for the Bulldogs and this season reached a milestone with 1,000 digs. Elliot was also recently named All-Region. Elliot said about her commitment to Converse College, "I really like the coach and the work ethic of the team." Comments are closed.
