BOILING SPRINGS, SC - The Boiling Springs girls golf team returned to the course for the first time since last week to defeat fellow region school Dorman at Woodfin Ridge on Tuesday.
The match on Tuesday also marked the second straight medalist honors for Bulldogs senior golfer Madison Dixon, after she shot a match low score of 36 on Tuesday. It was Dixon's first time on the course since she won the individual honors at The Jack Invitational golf tournament in Seneca last week and is her fifth medalist honor in ten events this season. With the victory it marks the Bulldogs next to last home match at Woodfin Ridge as the season starts to race towards the postseason with the Bulldogs scheduled to compete in the Region II-5A tournament at River Falls on October 11th. With the weather looking to change for the worse with the arrival of Hurricane Ian later this week, the Bulldogs will return to the course one last time on Wednesday afternoon at River Falls golf course against Byrnes. Prior to the region tournament in two weeks though, the Bulldogs will have a busy upcoming week that starts with a match against Gaffney at Cherokee National on Monday. They will follow that up with a trip to play in the Smith Memorial Tournament at the Country Club of Newberry on Tuesday before hosting Chesnee and Mauldin at Woodfin Ridge on Wednesday night for the final home match of the season that will also be senior night for Bulldogs senior golfer Madison Dixon.
