GREER, SC - The Boiling Springs wrestling team went on the road for a quad match on Tuesday night and when the night was over they returned back home with three victories to improve to 11-0 on the season.
"I'm super proud of the competition level our team brought tonight," said Bulldogs head coach Lee Thomas. "While the team scores may not indicate it, we had several matches where we were down late in the match and fought our way back into it and eventually won. We wrestled three complete duals and only loss three matches, which is a night I've never had before." In their first match of the night the Bulldogs defeated the homestanding Riverside Warriors 77-3 to improve to 9-0 on the season. Boiling Springs got seven pinfall victories against the Warriors while JoJo Barrett also grabbed a major victory (20-3) to help lead the Bulldogs. The second match of the night saw Boiling Springs grab a 75-6 victory over Palmetto to make the Bulldogs 2-0 on the night and 10-0 on the season. The Bulldogs got 10 pinfalls in the match. Boiling Springs capped the night off extinguishing the Blue Flames of Pickens by a score of 77-6 to finish the night 3-0. The Bulldogs added nine pinfall victories in the match to give them a combined total of 26 pinfall victories in the three matches. "I'm hoping we can use this momentum to head into the weekend and compete for a dual tournament championship over at High Point," said Thomas. Boiling Springs will return to action on Saturday at High Point in an all-day dual tournament. Comments are closed.
