ROEBUCK, SC - One day after winning on their senior night, the Boiling Springs spoiled the senior night of another school by picking up a 5-1 victory over Dorman in a non-region matchup.
With the victory the Bulldogs improve to 8-5 on the season with one match left to play on Thursday before the playoffs begin. Boiling Springs got a victory (7-5, 6-4) in number two singles by Sam Corbitt before also grabbing a win (7-5, 6-3) by Seth Evans in number three singles. Richie Khouri grabbed a victory in number four singles (6-1, 7-6, (7-1)) while Ben Reese nabbed a tiebreaker victory (6-7, 6-3) 10-7 in number five singles to help secure the victory for the Bulldogs. Boiling Springs also got a victory (6-2, 6-1) in number two doubles from Nate Miller and Preston Reese. The Cavaliers only victory in the match came in number one singles where George Nottley claimed straight set victory (6-0, 6-0). Boiling Springs will next return to action on Thursday when they host Nation Ford for their final region and regular season matchup of the year. They will await their playoff destination, as the 5A playoffs will begin on Tuesday. Baseball Boiling Springs 7 Fort Mill 1 Boiling Springs baseball rebounded from a loss to the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday with a 7-1 victory at home in another region matchup. The Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 to start the game before responding with seven unanswered runs. Both teams will face off again in a matchup at Fort Mill on Friday night to break the tie in the series.
