CLOVER, SC - The Boiling Springs boys’ tennis team went on the road to Clover on Thursday and came away with a 6-0 victory which made the long road trip back to Boiling Springs an enjoyable one as the Bulldogs improved to 5-3 on the season and 2-2 in region play.
”Overall it was a great win,” said Bulldogs head coach Caleb Weathers. “The long ride home isn’t so bad when every person on the bus gets to come home with a win.” The Bulldogs started off the night strong as number one singles player Rishi Patel defeat Clover’s Will Holden (6-3, 6-2) and Seth Evan’s came away with a victory (6-3, 6-0) at number two singles for the Bulldogs. Richie Khouri came away with a victory (6-1, 6-1) at number three singles while Ben Reese won in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) for the Bulldogs at number four singles that clinched the match in favor of the Bulldogs. In the number five singles there was a good competition between Boiling Springs’ Nate Miller and Clover’s Matthew Jackson as the match was sent to a tiebreaker (6-3, 1-6) but Miller eventually came away with the 10-8 victory. Boiling Springs picked up a win in number two doubles as Preston Reese and Chandler McCraw (6-1, 6-4) came away with the victory and they also picked up a victory in a pro-set match at number one singles from Rishi Patel and Seth Evan’s 8-3. The Bulldogs will play their last match before spring break on Tuesday when they host Fort Mill for another key region matchup. Comments are closed.
