On Tuesday afternoon the Boiling Spring tennis team captured an exciting 4-3 win over Clover to pick up a key region victory after picking up a win in the final match of the night. The Bulldogs picked up victories in the top three spots on Tuesday as Madison Ball defeated Morgan Johnson (6-1, 6-1) to win in number one singles followed by Sydney Braswell defeating Zoe Muiruri (6-4, 7-5) in number two singles. In number three singles Emily Krechko defeated Grace Griffith (7-6, 5-7, 11-9) as the Bulldogs swept the top matches in the top three seeds. After Boiling Springs dropped close matches in the four, five, and six seed spots the contest came down to the results of the number one singles where Madison Ball and Sydney Braswell won their second matches of the night defeating Zoe Muiruri and Jaida Foster (1-6, 6-2, 10-8) to give the Bulldogs the victory. "That was a huge region win," said Bulldogs head coach Jill Cooke. "I'm really proud of the team coming away with such a key victory especially Madison, Sydney, and Emily securing the victory late." The Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday as they travel to Fort Mill for another region contest. Bulldogs Volleyball Falls At GaffneyOn Tuesday night the Boiling Springs volleyball team fell to Gaffney 3-1 (25-16, 16-25, 17-25, 23-25) in their first match of the season.
The Bulldogs picked up a win in the first set but fell behind early in the following sets and weren't able to come back despite rallies in all three sets including getting within one in the final set. Boiling Springs will return to action on Thursday in another region matchup as they welcome Nation Ford in the Bulldogs first home match of the season. Comments are closed.
