After winning a close match on Tuesday against Clover the Boiling Springs tennis team ended up on the opposite end of the results on Thursday afternoon as they fell 4-3 to Fort Mill.
The Bulldogs got a win in the number two seed spot as Sydney Braswell defeated Katie Pierson (1-6, 6-3) winning in the tiebreaker match 10-7. In the four seed match the Bulldogs got a victory when Emma Kotzur defeated Bristol Kershaw (6-1, 6-2) and then took a 3-2 lead when Victoria Leonard defeated Rachel Templeton (6-3, 5-7) with a 11-9 tiebreaker victory in the fifth seed match. With Boiling Springs leading 3-2 the match went to the results of the doubles competitions where Fort Mill’s Clara Lake and Kate Hill (6-2, 6-3) won in number two doubles. The deciding match of the night went to Fort Mill teammates Madison McCarty and Katie Pierson (6-4, 7-6) who won a hard fought battle in number one singles while winning a 10-6 tiebreaker in the final match. Boiling Springs will look to rebound next Thursday when they host region foe Gaffney at 4:30 PM. Comments are closed.
