The Boiling Springs Bulldogs girls tennis team defeated the Landrum Cardinals 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon to grab their first win of the regular season. Boiling Springs is a very young team this season as they only have one senior and are replacing the one through four singles players from last season so getting their first win of the season was important. ”It was a great way to get our first win this season,” said Bulldogs head coach Jill Cooke. “We’re a really young team and so is Landrum. It was really good match for us here especially early.” The Bulldogs got very good performances from their number one, two, and four singles as they all won their matches (6-0, 6-0). Madison Ball won at number one singles while Sydney Braswell won at number two singles and Emily Krechko got a win at number four singles. “They did a very job not dropping a match and I’m very proud of them,” said Cooke. With the Bulldogs up 3-1 they were able to close out the match by getting wins from Erica Krechko in the number five singles (6-2, 6-1) and a win in doubles by Emma Kotzur and Victoria Leonard (6-1, 6-4). Boiling Springs will look to add to their win total on Thursday when they travel to Hillcrest for a region matchup. Bulldogs Golf Wins Tri-MatchThe Boiling Springs girls golf team picked up a big win in a tri-match against Chesnee and Mauldin on Wednesday afternoon.
