BOILING SPRINGS, SC - On a hot Wednesday afternoon that saw the temperatures in the 90's, three local teams squared off at Woodfin Ridge in Boiling Springs and a young Bulldog was able to come away with co-medalist honors. After the graduation of former Bulldog player Madison Dixon last year, the team's new number one, eighth-grader Ellie Taylor, proved why she earned the honor by firing a score of 38 at the home course to tie with Byrnes' Lauren Cutshall for the lowest individual score of the match to tie for the co-medalist honors. In the team results, it was the Byrnes Rebels who came away with the winning score of 168 while Boiling Springs fired a score of 185 and Chapman shot a score of 208. Adeline Todd was the low score for the Panthers coming away with a score of 43. Boiling Springs also got good outings from Sophia Leso who shot a score of 45 and Bella Greene who shot a score of 46. The Bulldogs will be back in action on September 11th at the Lady Trojan Tournament at the Rock Hill Country Club. Bulldogs Boys Volleyball Victorious Against Yellow JacketsFORT MILL, SC - The Boiling Springs boys' volleyball team went on the road to Fort Mill on Wednesday night and came back Highway 5 with a 3-2 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
Fort Mill won the first match 25-22 before the Bulldogs responded with a 25-17 victory of their own. The Yellow Jackets won a hard fought third set 28-26 as they scored the last two points of the set to take a 2-1 lead in the match. With the Bulldogs needing to win the remaining sets, they did just that claiming the fourth set 25-15 and then winning the deciding fifth set 15-9 over the Yellow Jackets and grab an impressive 3-2 win in the match. Boiling Springs will next return to the court on Monday at Byrnes in a matchup against the Rebels. Comments are closed.
