The Boiling Springs swim team defeated Gaffney but suffered a loss to Fort Mill to split a region matchup in Fort Mill on Thursday afternoon. In the matchup the Bulldogs had an impressive performance from their men's medley relay team, who are currently ranked second in the state in the event just ahead of Riverside and Dorman who they face in a meet on Saturday. The medley team (made up of Will Humphreys, Ashton Threadgill, Samuel Jouault, and Garrett Watson) won the 200y relay with a time of 1:43.36 on Thursday and are currently sitting at just less than two seconds off the school record time. The Bulldogs also got good nights from Garrett Watson in the 200y freestyle event that he won in the time of 1:52.73 as well as a strong night from Will Humphreys in the 200y individual medley and 500y freestyle. Ashton Threadgill also had a good night winning the 100y breaststroke event with a time of 1:04.68. "Garrett had a stellar event as well as great swims by Will Humphreys in his events," said Bulldogs head coach Lanie Peden. "Ashton Threadgill has put in hard work in the last year and is having an incredible season." The Bulldogs will step out of region matchups on Saturday when they take on Dorman and Riverside at 11:00 at the Middle Tyger YMCA. "The region we're in is fast every time we get in the pool," said Peden. "We're looking forward to some non-region competition against some familiar faces even though it's going to be tough competing on just one day's rest between meets." Other Notes From Thursday
