In a matchup between two teams located within ten miles of each other it was the Boiling Springs Bulldogs who walked away with a 74-60 win over the Chapman Panthers.
In Boiling Springs first matchup since the Christmas break and first game since winning the Shootout By the Sea the Bulldogs didn’t miss a beat as they jumped out to a 25-16 lead. The Panthers made a comeback in the second quarter though as they closed the Bulldogs lead to 48-43 at halftime. It was all Bulldogs in the second half though as they outscored the Panthers 26-17 over the last sixteen minutes and grabbed a 74-60 victory. Boiling Springs was led on offense by junior Chance Guest who scored seventeen points, fifteen in the first half, with four rebounds and one steal. Junior Kamal Desor also had a good game for the Bulldogs as he scored ten points with four rebounds and three steals. Banks Atkins led the Panthers with fourteen points. The win by the Boiling Springs boys was the ending of the sweep for the night as the Lady Bulldogs also defeated the Lady Panthers 58-45. Caroline Reese led the Lady Bulldogs with eighteen points.
