With the regular season starting to wind down every region game becomes important and the Boiling Springs Bulldogs softball team took advantage of their opportunity with a 4-2 at Hillcrest on Friday night.
The Bulldogs got the game started with a double by Samy Quintero and she later came around to score on a double to left field by Grace McKinney to give the Bulldogs an early 1-0 lead. Boiling Springs kept the scoring going in the second inning when Jaycie Osment hit a double of her own to left field with two outs and then was followed by Olivia Hall who hit a homerun to left field to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead after two innings. In the bottom of the third inning Hillcrest was able to add a run to put the Bulldogs lead at 3-1. In the top of the fifth inning Boiling Springs Ragan Bristol doubled to centerfield before coming around to score on a McKinney single to right field giving the Bulldogs a 4-1 lead before the Rams tacked on another run in the bottom half of the inning. Boiling Springs had five different players get hits on Friday night with Grace McKinney getting two hits while driving in two runs for the Bulldogs. Besides her home run in the game Olivia Hall also had a good night pitching for the Bulldogs as she pitched seven innings and struck out six batters. The Bulldogs will return to action in a pivotal region matchup against Byrnes on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs baseball and softball teams will both be hosting Byrnes on Tuesday night as it is Little League Night at the park. Comments are closed.
