After opening up the season with a victory over Chesnee on the opening night of their new gym, the Boiling Springs basketball went on the road and picked up their first road win of the season by defeating Woodruff 68-39 on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-10 lead in the first quarter with Cameron Bockstiegel leading the way with four points being one of six Boiling Springs players to score in the quarter. Just like on Monday night though a big second quarter helped the Bulldogs really pull away from their opponent as Boiling Springs outscored the Wolverines 25-11 in the second quarter giving them a 40-21 halftime lead. The Bulldogs were led in the second quarter by Trey McManus who scored nine points in the quarter, all on three pointers, and was closely followed by Cam Earls who scored five points in the quarter. In the third quarter the Bulldogs continued to add to their lead as they outscored the Wolverines 17-11 and giving them a 57-32 lead going into the final quarter. McManus also led the way in the third quarter for the Bulldogs as he scored seven of his game high eighteen points in the quarter. When the final buzzer sounded the Bulldogs had added to their lead by outscoring Woodruff 11-7 with Khalil Brown scoring six of the Bulldogs final eleven points and securing the victory for the Bulldogs. While McManus led the way for the Bulldogs in scoring they also had two other players finish in double figures on Tuesday night as Jordon Means (10) and Corey Johnson (11) both hit the mark as well. It is the second straight night for all three players to finish in double figures scoring for the Bulldogs. Boiling Springs will have a few nights off before returning to action on Friday night when they host Broome. Comments are closed.
