The Boiling Springs girls golf team may have finished just short of their ultimate goal on Tuesday but they still had a pretty impressive year as they finished third in the SC 5A golf championship in Prosperity, SC with a two day score of 657. The Bulldogs finished in third place behind Lexington (613) and Blythewood (640) but finished ahead of region foes Byrnes (5th), Gaffney (7th), and Dorman (8th).
The Bulldogs were led on Monday by MK Talledo who shot a seventy-six and then backed that score up with a seventy-six on Tuesday as well. On Tuesday Boiling Springs got an impressive round from Madison Dixon who shot a two under seventy-one. Both players were named All-State with their performances as Talledo finished tied for sixth with a six over for the tournament and Dixon finished in tenth place with a nine over for the two day tournament. Lexington's Isabella Rawl won the individual state championship with a two under for the tournament while Spartanburg's Elle Johnson was the highest local finisher as she tied for fourth with a score of four over. While the season may have not finished exactly like the Bulldogs would have liked they did finish with an impressive season as they won their third straight region championship just a few weeks ago.
