Boiling Springs finished their first trip through region play with an impressive 49-39 victory over Hillcrest on Tuesday night as they led from start to finish.
The Bulldogs jumped out on the Rams early as they led Hillcrest 15-2 at the end of the first quarter as five different Boiling Springs players scored with Zach Baldinelli and Reggie Crocker leading the team with four points each. While Hillcrest fought back in the second quarter the Bulldogs still claimed a nine point lead at halftime as they led 27-18 at the end of the half. In the second half the Bulldogs held on to their lead as they held Hillcrest to twenty-one points in the half and only allowed them to score eight points in the fourth quarter. Boiling Springs was clutch from the free throw line in the second half as the Bulldogs went eleven of fourteen from the free throw line in the second half. The Bulldogs also got a strong fourth quarter from senior JB Kennedy who scored seven of his twelve points in the fourth quarter. On Tuesday night the Bulldogs were led in scoring by Zach Baldinelli who led Boiling Springs with fourteen points while Reggie Crocker and JB Kennedy both scored twelve points a piece. With the victory the Bulldogs improved to 12-4 overall and 3-4 in region after their first trip through Region II-5A and will look to continue their two game winning streak when they travel to Byrnes on Friday night. The Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs also walked away with a victory on Tuesday night as they defeated Hillcrest 48-35 to improve their region record to 5-2 after their first trip through region play.
