Boiling Springs came into Tuesday looking to have a repeat of their earlier five set victory over Byrnes but fell just short on senior night as the Bulldogs lost 3-2 in their final game of the regular season.
With Tuesday night being senior night the Bulldogs were saying goodbye to five seniors as Megan Caudell, Emma McClendon, Madyson Coombs, Amaya Richardson, and Maddie Reed all played their final game for the Bulldogs volleyball team. The Boiling Springs volleyball team done their best though to send the seniors out with a victory as they claimed game one 25-18. In game two Byrnes was able to even up the score as they won 25-19 though the Bulldogs after being down 23-12 fought back to 24-19 but it wasn't quite enough. In game three the Bulldogs jumped out to a 6-1 lead and never looked back as they went on to claim a 25-19 victory. With a 2-1 lead the Bulldogs battled hard in game four as their rally fell just short losing 25-21. It seemed the Bulldogs just weren't ready to bid adieu to their seniors just yet as they were in familiar territory with a game five against the Rebels coming up. In game five though it was all Byrnes as they jumped out to a 7-1 lead on their way to a 15-5 win and claimed the match for the Rebels. With the victory Byrnes will claim the fourth seed in Region II-5A heading into the playoffs while the Bulldogs will fall just short of that goal this season. Comments are closed.
