On Saturday morning the Boiling Springs Bulldogs fell to the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes 50-6 after the original game was postponed on Friday night due to inclement weather.
Dutch Fork quarterback Ty Olenchuk, who threw for 232 yards on eleven completions for three touchdowns, got the first score of the game when he found wide receiver Jalin Hyatt on a sixty-eight yard touchdown pass to give the Silver Foxes an early 7-0 lead. He would later connect with wide receiver Elijah Spencer on a thirty-five yard touchdown pass to give the Silver Foxes a 20-0 first quarter lead. Jonathan Hall, running back for Dutch Fork, finished the game with eleven carries for 81 yards while adding a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and a ten-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Another Olenchuk touchdown pass to Spencer and a Silver Foxes 38-yd field goal put the Dutch Fork lead at 37-0 as the halftime buzzer sounded. With the score at 50-0 in the fourth quarter the Bulldogs still kept fighting and that effort was paid off when quarterback Charles McFadden ran the ball in from one yard out for a touchdown and putting the score at 50-6. The Bulldogs also saw Marquise Graves block two Dutch Fork extra point attempts. ”Our kids kept battling and our coaches kept coaching hard today,” said Boiling Springs head football coach Rick Tate. “It’s not the result you want but we’ll get back to work on Monday and look to rebound next week.” Boiling Springs will open region play on Friday night as they host Riverside.
