The Boiling Springs Bulldogs were unable to overcome some mistakes and a strong second quarter from the Dorman Cavaliers falling 38-0 to their region opponent on Friday night.
After being forced to punt on their first offensive drive the Bulldogs defense on the ensuing Cavaliers drive was able to hold a potent Dorman offense to settle for an Omar Khan twenty-one yard field goal giving the Cavaliers a 3-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff Dorman got the ball right back at the Boiling Springs seventeen yard line after the Bulldogs fumbled the kickoff return but the defense stood tall again on the following drive forcing a Dorman punt after penalties and some nice defensive plays put the Cavaliers at their own thirty-nine yard line. The Boiling Springs defense was able to hold Dorman to seventy-six total yards of offense in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Cavaliers outscored the Bulldogs 21-0 as Dorman started their scoring in the second quarter when Chance Black ran the ball seven yards over the left side to give the Cavaliers a 10-0 lead just over a minute into the quarter. They extended that lead to 17-0 when quarterback Hayden Lee ran the ball up the middle for two yards and another Cavaliers touchdown. The final touchdown of the half came when Rashad Durrah ran the ball over the left side for a ten yard touchdown and a 24-0 halftime lead. In the second half the Cavaliers Chance Black scored his second touchdown of the game when on the first offensive play of the half he broke through the line and down the left side of the field for an eighty yard touchdown to give Dorman a 31-0 lead. The final score of the game came when Durrah scored his second touchdown of the game on a one yard run to make the score 38-0 in favor of Dorman. The Bulldogs were led on defense by Kameron Meadows who registered seven tackles with one for a loss. He was followed closely by Marquise Graves, Troy Bell, and Austin Henderson who all collected five tackles with Graves also getting an interception. Trell Robinson led the Bulldogs in tackles for loss as he picked up 1.5 tackles for loss which were part of his five tackles in the game. Boiling Springs was held to seventy-eight yards of offense on Friday night with sixty-five of those yards coming on the ground. "Our guys competed hard for four quarters," said Bulldogs head coach Rick Tate. "We started a lot of young guys tonight and we just got to keep getting better every day and each week." The Bulldogs will look to rebound next Friday night as they travel to face another region opponent in Mauldin who defeated Riverside 43-6 on Friday night. Comments are closed.
