Less than a week ago the Boiling Springs boys' lacrosse team had their most successful season in school history come to an end just short of a berth in the Upper State championship game. While the season has come to an end for the team, the postseason awards are still rolling in for the team that will go down in the record books for the school.
Seniors Micah Shane Horton and Mathias Oslund along with sophomore Elijah Smith were named to the 5A All-State team this week while the same players were also named to the first team 5A Upper State first team. Boiling Springs freshman Lincoln Huskey was also named to the 5A Upper State second team. Midfielder Micah Shane Horton was also named the 5A Upper State Face-Off Player of the Year while midfielder Mathias Oslund was named the 5A Upper State Midfielder of the Year. Bulldogs' attacker Elijah Smith was named the Region III-5A Player of the Year while also being named to the first team All-Region team along with Matthias Oslund and Micah Shane Horton. Senior Ethan Westall along with juniors Cameron Wagner and Chase Miller plus freshman Lincoln Huskey were named to the second team All-Region team as well. Senior defenseman Jordan Reid and senior midfielder Kaden Jenkins were also named All-Region honorable mentions. Boiling Springs finished their 2022 season with a 12-5 record before falling to JL Mann on Saturday but they also picked up their first playoff win in school history, an 18-12 road victory against Dorman.
