Boiling Springs and Chesnee, both schools being from Spartanburg County's school district two, had great outings on Monday as they both finished in the top three of the Lady Eagle Tournament in Greenwood, SC against a strong field of competitors.
Chesnee won the overall tournament by defeating Gilbert High School in a sudden death playoff, that was forced by a clutch birdie putt from the Eagles Sydney Roberts on the 18th hole during regular competition. While the Eagles won the tournament the Bulldogs finished the tournament in a strong third place just behind both Chesnee and Gilbert and eleven shots ahead of fourth place Emerald High School. The Bulldogs Madison Dixon was co-medalist of the match with Chapin's Emily Baker as both players shot a one under seventy-one for the one day tournament. They were joined on the All-Tournament team by the Bulldogs MK Talledo along with the Eagles Isabella Britt and Sydney Roberts as both teams accounted for four of the five All-Tournament team honors. Boiling Springs will return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Clover for a region matchup before returning to play on Thursday in the Lady Rebel Invitational at River Falls where they will be joined by Chesnee for the all-day tournament.
