BOILING SPRINGS, SC - As the Boiling Springs wrestling team narrows down on their 200th dual victory they got two wins closer on Wednesday night as they went 2-1 with victories over High Point and Spartanburg.
In the first match of the game the Bulldogs came out strong defeating Spartanburg 63-15 to get their first victory of the night. The Bulldogs got pinfall victories by Ayden Whisler (120), Rylee Douglas (132), Aiden Duncan (145), Ethan Coppola (152), Jacob Hill (195) and Tyrell Nesbitt (220). Triston Ellison won a nail biter match (160) defeating his opponent 10-8 while the Bulldogs also got four victories via forfeit. The second match saw the Bulldogs get a 48-35 victory over High Point as Peyton Hornack started the match with a pinfall victory (113) to give the Bulldogs an early 6-0 lead. Ethan Coppola got his second pinfall victory of the night and was followed up with two more pinfall victories by Triston Ellison (160) and Jacob Dawkins (170) to push the Bulldogs lead to 48-6 over the Grizzlies. The only loss for the Bulldogs came in the final match of the night where they fell to Northwestern 42-36. With the victories over Spartanburg and High Point along with a victory over Union on Tuesday night the Bulldogs are three dual wins closer to their 200th dual win in program history. Boiling Springs will next compete this weekend (Dec 3-4) at the Southern Slam tournament at Eastside High School. Their next chance to narrow in on their 200th dual win will come next Wednesday when they host a match at home against Chapman, Dorman, and Powdersville. Comments are closed.
