The Boiling Springs volleyball team lost a heartbreaker on Thursday night as the Bulldogs lost 3-2 to Riverside after the Warriors scored the last four points of the match to claim the victory. The Bulldogs came into the game Thursday off of a huge 3-2 victory over Byrnes on Tuesday night. In game one both teams were tied at 24-24 but the Bulldogs claimed the final two points to win 26-24. The Warriors would claim games two and three 25-22 and 25-18 respectively. In game four the Bulldogs jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back as they claimed a 25-15 victory and pushed the match to a game five. The Bulldogs and Warriors battled back and forth in game five as both teams were tied nine different times in the game. After being tied at 12-12, the Bulldogs battled to a 14-12 lead but Riverside battled back to score the last four points of the game giving the Warriors a 16-14 victory in game five. While the Bulldogs fell in a heartbreaker on Thursday night they will get to put that loss behind them as they return to play this weekend at the Hub City Classic Tournament and will return to region play on Tuesday at Dorman. Tennis Victorious Over Dorman The Boiling Springs tennis team improved to 7-2 on Thursday night as they traveled to Dorman and came away with a 7-0 victory over the Cavaliers.
The Bulldogs singles all won again on Thursday repeating a feat they accomplished on Tuesday night as senior Anna Greer (6-0, 6-1) won in number one singles, junior Abigail Bragg (6-0, 6-1) won in number two singles, and seventh grader Ava Bragg (6-0, 6-0) in number three singles. Mallory Cooper (6-3, 6-2) and Sydney Braswell (6-1, 6-2) also walked away with victories for the Bulldogs. The singles matches weren't the only victories for Anna Greer and Abigail Bragg though as the pair also claimed victory over the Cavaliers in number one doubles. The Bulldogs completed the sweep of the match when Madison Ball and Camila Alvarez (6-4, 6-3) won in number two doubles. The Bulldogs tennis team will return to action on Tuesday at Mauldin in a key region matchup. Comments are closed.
