BOILING SPRINGS, SC - As the Boiling Springs boys' tennis team gets closer to knowing their playoff destination fate, they used their match on Tuesday afternoon to defeat Gaffney 6-0 to win another region matchup and honor eight Bulldogs senior tennis players.
The eight seniors that the Bulldogs were honoring on Tuesday included Seth Evans, Robert Raynor, Trent Henderson, Seth Raynor, Rishi Patel, Chandler McCraw, Richie Khouri Jr, and Ben Richter. The Bulldogs got off to a hot start on Tuesday as senior Rishi Patel got a win in number one singles (6-0, 6-1) over Gaffney's Will Phillips while Sam Corbitt also picked up a win in number two singles (6-2, 6-1) for the Bulldogs. Boiling Springs senior Seth Evans won a tiebreaker match (5-7, 6-1) 10-1 over Gaffney's Peyton Bingham to come away with a victory in number three singles as fellow senior Richie Khouri Jr grabbed a (6-2, 6-3) victory in number four singles to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead in the match. Ben Reese added a straight set victory (6-0, 6-0) for the Bulldogs in number five singles. The Bulldogs also got two victories in the doubles matches as seniors Chandler McCraw and Trent Henderson took away the win (6-3, 6-2) in number one doubles while Nate Miller and Preston Reese earned a straight set victory (6-0, 6-0) in number two doubles. Boiling Springs will next be in action on Wednesday at Dorman before facing Nation Ford in their final region matchup of the season on Thursday. The Bulldogs will play their first match in the 5A playoffs on Tuesday, they will find out their opponent and location over the weekend. Softball Fort Mill 3 Boiling Springs 2 Boiling Springs softball took an early 2-1 lead in the game before Fort Mill was able to rally in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead. The Bulldogs looked to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning but a great tag at home by the Fort Mill catcher gave the Yellow Jackets the region victory. Boiling Springs softball will honor their four seniors on Thursday in a home game against Mauldin. Boy's Soccer Fort Mill 2 Boiling Springs 1 Boiling Springs boys' soccer held their senior night on Tuesday where they honored seven senior players. The Bulldogs honored seniors Evan Buckmeier, Jayce Lamb, Peyton Pressley, Daniel Ocampo, Avery Plummer, Dylan Bell, Miguel Delgado, Christian Gonzalez, and Kaillou Touch.
