GREENWOOD, SC - The female members of the Boiling Springs wrestling program got their own spotlight on Friday afternoon as they competed in the Greenwood Girls Invitational event at Greenwood High School, where they came away with a strong showing including two champions.
The Bulldogs not only came away with two championships but also came away with five awards overall. "We had a great time being able to take to take our group of girls to the Greenwood Girls Invitational," said Boiling Springs head coach Lee Thomas. "With our varsity team being off, it allowed us to focus on our girls who wrestled tough throughout the night. Regardless of which group you're with, when you can bring home medals for every person on the bus it's a fun event." Chloe Osteen won the championship in the 106 division while Rebecca Blackwell was also able to come away with the championship in the 152 division. Anastasia Kunitska won silver in the 145 division while Sophia LeBrun (126) and Logan Wall (160) came away with bronze place finishes. All five girls that competed in the event and won awards are members of the Bulldogs wrestling program that is currently undefeated with a record of 8-0 on the season. Boiling Springs wrestling will return to action on Tuesday in a quad match at Riverside against the home team Warriors, Pickens, and Palmetto. Comments are closed.
