ROEBUCK, SC - The Boiling Springs cross country teams traveled down I-26 early on Saturday morning and on the trip back was able to celebrate some strong finishes at the annual Cavalier Classic at Dorman High School.
The Bulldogs have continued their improved performances this season as the girls' team finished in third place out of 11 teams and the boys' team finished fourth out of 12 teams. Dorman won both the boys' and girls' events on Saturday as Dixie was second in the girls' event while Dutch Fork and South Pointe finished second and third in the boys' event respectfully. Boiling Springs was led in the girls' event by Ainsley Steadings who finished in 16th with a time of 21:36 followed by Alyssa Skory in 23rd place with a time of 22:24. Dixie High School's Ashten Stoll won the girls' event in a time of 20:20 just ahead of teammate Ansley Prescott who finished just a second behind in a time of 20:21. The rest of the top five was in order Dorman's Ella Bowen, Evyn Kate Dill, and Haley Ruth. Chapman also competed in the event with Isabella Woodward being the highest finisher for them in the girls' event with a 46th place finish in a time of 24:27. The Bulldogs were led in the boys' event by Andrew Cooler who finished in 21st place in a time of 17:57 followed by teammate Jake Sapp who finished in 23rd place with a time of 18:08. South Pointe's Garrett Brown won the boys' event with a time of 15:55 finishing just ahead of five Dorman runners (Nathan Edwards, Andrew Cleland, Noah Yarborough, Tyler Davis, and Joseph McBride) who took up the second through sixth places. The Chapman boys' team finished in tenth place and were led by Nicholas Scruggs who finished in 46th place in a time of 19:25 followed by teammate Logan Grooms in 49th place with a time of 19:27. Boiling Springs will next be in action on October 7th when they compete in the Woodmont Invitational at Woodmont High School in Piedmont, SC. Comments are closed.
