BOILING SPRINGS, SC - As the world of lacrosse continues to grow in the state of South Carolina, two of the best teams in the state squared off in matchup at Boiling Springs as the Bulldogs came away with a 16-3 victory over the Byrnes Rebels on Tuesday night.
Boiling Springs entered the game ranked #5 while Byrnes went into the game ranked in the #10 spot in the state. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first quarter as they got two goals each from Elijah Smith and Lincoln Huskey along with a goal each from Drew Buckmeier and Javen Chhim. Dawson Martinin assisted on the first goal to Smith while Smith assisted on the goal by Buckmeier. Byrnes got their first goal of the match just five seconds inside the seven-minute mark of the second quarter as they scored an unassisted goal to cut the Bulldogs lead to 6-1 over the Rebels. Boiling Springs responded with two back-to-back goals at the five-minute mark of the quarter as Caden Quaranta and Elijah Smith both came away with goals to push the lead to 8-1 over the Rebels. Jaiden Kocak and Dillon Snyder added two more goals over the last four minutes of the half to give the Bulldogs a 10-1 lead at the halftime break. In the second half the Bulldogs continued their domination as they outscored the Rebels 6-2 over the final 24 minutes of the match. Durning the second half of play Boiling Springs got goals from Chhim, Smith, Quaranta, Max Crowe, along with two goals from Drew Buckmeier. Elijah Smith led the Bulldogs with four goals along with five assists in the match while Javen Chhim had an impressive performance at the face off position winning six of 10 attempts for the Bulldogs. Parker Lamb kept the Rebels offense at bay as he recorded six saves in the goal for the Bulldogs. With the win the Bulldogs improve to 4-1 and 2-0 in region play after another big win at Dorman last week. Boiling Springs will return to action on Friday when they host JL Mann in a match set to begin at 7:30 PM/ Comments are closed.
