After losing a thriller to Chapman to start the morning the Boiling Springs baseball team rebounded on Saturday afternoon to defeat Walhalla 11-1 in the second day of the Steve Sanders preseason tournament.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead in the first inning off a double from catcher Vance Wagner that put the Bulldogs up 2-0 to start the game. Boiling Springs added to their lead in the fifth inning as they scored five runs in the inning coming off the bats of Davis Starnes, Avery Stewart, Hudson Wilson, and Will Holmes. Boiling Springs picked up 11 hits in the game Saturday afternoon with Davis Starnes, Will Holmes, and Jamison Bagwell all having multiple hit days for the Bulldogs. Dylan Anderson picked up the win for the Bulldogs allowing only one run off six hits over four innings of play. The Bulldogs will compete again on Monday for the final round of the Steve Sanders Tournament before officially opening their regular season on March 15th in a road game at Byrnes.
