Blacksburg jumped out to a 7-3 lead early on thanks to four points from Wesley Bright but the Eagles ended the quarter on a 6-3 run of their own to pull within three points at the end of the first quarter. Chesnee took the lead with just four minutes to go in the half on a Carson Williamson three pointer. The Wildcats reclaimed the lead on a Samuel McSwain old fashion three-point play with 1:46 to go in the half and ended the half on a 13-4 run to build an eight-point half time lead. Blacksburg ended the third quarter in a similar way as they did the first half, going on a 7-0 run, after the Eagles had trimmed the lead to just one point, to take a 55-47 lead into the fourth quarter. The Eagles pulled to within seven points several times in the quarter but was unable to mount a rally big enough to overcome the Wildcat lead. Samuel McSwain led the Wildcats with 17 points while Jacob Gilfillan added 13 more points for Blacksburg on Friday night.
