The Westside Rams made their first trip to the Lowe's Roundball Classic a memorable one as they claimed the 2017 championship with a 68-49 victory over the Anderson Christian Lions. The Rams started their tournament play with an impressive victory on Thursday as they defeated the two time defending champions of the Lowe's Roundball Classic the East Rutherford Cavs 65-60.
The Rams trailed early in the game as they fell behind the Lions 16-11 at the end of the first quarter but were able to rally before the half was over claiming a 28-24 lead at halftime. It was in the fourth quarter when the Rams truly showed their talent though as they outscored Anderson Christian 26-12 over the last eight minutes of the game. The Rams were led in the championship game by Traye Carson who scored twenty-three points and was named the MVP of the tournament. They also got a solid night from Odarius Cade who scored twenty points and was named All-Tournament. Carson was named MVP of the tournament after averaging 21.7 points per game for the Lowe's Classic. The Lions were led in the championship game by Quentin Moulterie who scored fifteen points. Anderson Christian's McCrae Moorhouse was named to the All-Tournament team after averaging 16.7 points for the tournament. Comments are closed.
