Chesnee downed the Greer Middle College Blazers 7-1 to move to 2-0 in region play. Chesnee got a brilliant performance on the mound from Clemson commit Nate Lamb, who struck out 10 and allowed only two hits and surrendering only one run over 7 innings. Lamb ended the game by striking out 7 of the final 9 Greer Middle College batters. Chesnee Head Coach Scott Wease was pleased with the senior's performance, "He did a great job of throwing strikes tonight and kept them off speed. He is the guy we expect to come up big, and he did an awesome job tonight."
On the offensive side, Chesnee got off to a fast start by scoring two runs in the 1st. Kobe Miller lead off the game with a single and stole 2nd and 3rd and scored on a wild throw to 3rd base. Nate Lamb hit a deep triple to dead center and scored on another wild throw to third. Chesnee followed that up by scoring three runs off of 4 doubles in the bottom of the 2nd. Nolan Hammett lead off the inning with a double and Bo Walker, Kobe Miller, and Luke Cash all followed with doubles and each drove in a run. Dawson Williamson rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a two out double in 4th inning that drove in two runs for the Eagles. Chesnee moves to 2-0 in region with two key region games coming up next week against county rival Landrum. Chesnee Head Coach Scott Wease was pleased with his team's start to region play "it's always good to go up 2-0, but we have a long way to go with several good teams in our region. It's just a start, but it's always good to start with 2 wins" Chesnee will be back in action on Wednesday as they host the Chase Trojans, and will return to region play Thursday as they travel to Landrum.
