St Joseph's closed the 3rd quarter on a 12-0 run and that was too much for the Eagles to come back from as the Knights captured a 64-48 victory. In a game that was tied 27-27 at halftime the Knights outscored the Eagles 22-5 in the third quarter. St. Joseph's defense forced the Eagles into a bad possession and St. Josephs was able use a transition offense to get the Eagles out position defensively in the second half. The started out fast as the Eagles led 21-17 at the end of the 3rd, but the Knights were able to hold the Eagles to jus 27 points the rest of the way. The Knights were led by Colin Burns who scored 13 points. Mike Murray added 12 points for the Knights and Walter Pace added 11 points. Chesnee got another solid game from Dez Tate who scored a team high 13 points. Ahmad Smith scored 8 points in his second game back from injury. Terrence Duren and Dawson Williamson each added 7 points for the Eagles. The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday at home against Christ Church. Girl’s GameSt. Josephs Lady Knights used a 18-7 fourth quarter run to down the Chesnee Lady Eagles 45-39 Friday night in a key region contest.
The Lady Eagles let a 35-29 lead, with 4:15 left in the game, slip away. Jaelle Saunders scored 8 of her 15 points in the fourth to help lead the Knights comeback. St Josephs also got a big night from Maddy Duwe who scored 10 points for the Lady Knights. The Lady Eagles got solid nights from team captains Abbey Ray and Sierra Bowen as Bowen scored a team high 15 points and was eight of ten from the charity stripe.
