BLACKSBURG, SC - The Chesnee volleyball team ended the first half of region play with a victory and started the second half of region play by defeating Blacksburg in an impressive 3-0 match victory.
"We served the ball really well tonight," said Chesnee head coach Katie Jolley. "We used our aggressive serves to run our offense more effectively tonight." Chesnee got off to a hot start limiting Blacksburg to only twelve points in the first set coming away with a 25-12 victory in the first set. The Wildcats battled back some in the second set, but the Eagles were still too much coming away with a 25-16 victory. The final set was where the Eagles showed their strength, not allowing the Wildcats into double digit points capturing a 25-9 third set victory for a 3-0 victory in the match. On a night the Eagles were strong from the service line Haley Edmonds led the team with nine ace serves along with 18 assists. Olivia Richey led the Eagles in kills with 12 kills against the Wildcats while Carlee Turner also had a strong night with six kills of her own. Pearl Holloway continued her strong play this season for the Eagles as she led the team with in both assists and digs with 27 assists and 11 digs while also adding nine kills and three ace serves. Mitchell Wofford finished just behind Holloway in digs with ten digs of her own. The Eagles now sit at 4-2 in region play and are scheduled to host Landrum in another region matchup on Thursday night. Comments are closed.
