SENECA, SC - The Chesnee girls golf team competed in the The Jack Invitational golf tournament on Tuesday where they came away with a fourth-place finish at the Cross Creek Plantation golf course in Seneca.
Chesnee finished with a team score of 357 to finish in fourth place, just behind tournament champion Dorman (323), second place Pickens (330), and Seneca (336). They finished ahead of fellow region school Boiling Springs who finished in fifth place. Boiling Springs' Madison Dixon won the individual tournament with a tournament low score of 74 but she was joined on the All-Tournament team by Olivia Roberts who led the Eagles with a score of 78. The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they compete against Byrnes at River Falls Plantation before competing at the High School Invitational in Florence, SC. EAGLES VOLLEYBALL The Chesnee volleyball team fell to Liberty 3-0 in a road region matchup on Tuesday night. The Eagles fell in set one and set two 25-17 before falling in set three 25-16 but in all three sets the Eagles were close before the Red Devils pulled away at the end of each set. "We battled with Liberty but they pulled away at the end of each set," said Chesnee head coach Katie Jolley. "We just need to work on being consistent in our energy and play." Pearl Holloway led the way for Chesnee with eight kills, 19 assists, and 13 digs while Carlee Turner added seven kills and Olivia Richey added six kills of her own. Haley Edmonds led the Eagles in digs with 32 while Harley Grady added 15 digs of her own. The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Greenville Tech Charter for another region matchup. Comments are closed.
