Chesnee competed in their first home matchup at Meadowbrook on Thursday and made it a successful one with a victory over Broome to start their regular season.
"It was nice to get our first win today," said Chesnee head coach Andy Pitt. "We are learning everyday and aiming to continually improve. You can see where these guys are heading and it's exciting. Chesnee outscored Broome on Thursday with a score of 198 to 214 as the Eagles Creighton Rentz won medalist honors shooting a 44 to lead all golfers. Peyton Lawter was second for the Eagles with a score of 49 followed by Jackson Ramsey with a score of 52. "The guys are not happy where they are and that's what is so exciting," said Pitt. "They want to work harder to get better." Chesnee will return to the course on Monday afternoon when they host Chapman at Meadowbrook. Comments are closed.
