PIEDMONT, SC - The Chesnee girls' golf team continued their strong play to start the 2023 season winning their second straight 18-hole tournament after they defeated the field at the Lady Hurricane golf tournament that was hosted by Wren High School on Monday.
The Eagles won the event with a tournament low score of 305 which was 19-shots better than the second-place team of TL Hanna. Chesnee was only one of seven of the 21 teams in the tournament to shoot in the 300's at a challenging course. Olivia Roberts won the medalist honors in the event with a tournament low score of 68, finishing three shots ahead of Daniel's Peyton O'Brien who shot a score of 71 as both Roberts and O'Brien were the only two golfers to shoot below par. Roberts wasn't the only Eagle to have a good day as Olivia Shields, (78), Addy Parker (79), and Abigail Watson (80) all shot scores of 80 or below. Chesnee will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to the Links O'Tryon to compete against fellow region team Landrum in a nine-hole match. Comments are closed.
