The East Rutherford Cavaliers jumped out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter on their way to down the Chesnee Eagles 101-62 in non-region contest.
The Cavaliers were led by Christian Walker, who scored 19 of his game high 30 points in the first half and also connected on five three-pointers. Walker was one of four Cavaliers in double figures as Jayden Waddell, Antonio Buenuelos, and Jordan Harris were also in double figures. Chesnee was led by Ahmad Smith who finished with a team high 20 points. Chesnee Head Coach Andy Pitt was pleased to see his senior guard have a nice night, "It was big for him to have some success.” Alijah Means also had a solid night for the Eagles as he finished with 16 points including 11 in the second half while also connecting on three three-pointers. Senior Malik Busby had the highlight of the night for the Eagles as he hit a long three-pointer as he was fouled just as time expired in the second quarterband he sank the free throw to complete the four point play. Busby finished with 12 points for the Eagles. Coach Pitt was pleased with the leadership Busby displayed throughout the night. "That is one thing we have to make sure we have is senior leadership." The Eagles will look to bounce back Tuesday night as they host the Landrum Cardinals. The girls game is set for 6:30pm and the boys game is set for 8pm. Comments are closed.
