CHESNEE, SC - The Blacksburg Wildcats behind a stellar performance from Levi Barrett downed the Chesnee Eagles 5-0 on Thursday to tie the season series at one game each.
Barrett started the game off with a solo home run before throwing six and a third innings of shut out baseball. He had a streak of six straight strikeouts in the early portion of the game while scattering four hits and striking out 11 batters. Barrett also delivered a big blow in the top of the sixth inning with a three RBI double that made the score 5-0 in favor of the Wildcats. Matty Cody scored on an error earlier in the inning for the Wildcats. Barrett finished with two hits and four RBIs including the solo home run to lead the Wildcats. Daniel Wease led the Eagles with a pair of hits including a triple while Carson Gossett reached base three times, once on a single and walking twice. The Eagles will be back in action on Monday as they host Clinton as first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM. Comments are closed.
