The Chesnee Lady Eagles basketball team picked up a quality non-region 34-21 win over the Lewisville Lady Lions on Monday evening giving the Eagles two straight wins.
"It feels great," said Chesnee guard Kymiah Blair. "It gives us a lot of confidence heading into Friday." Chesnee's Abbey Ray scored with just over two minutes to go in the half to stop the Lion's run and spark a 6-0 run for the Eagles to close out the half. Hannah Henderson and Logan Lawter each added two points in the Eagles run to help Chesnee build a 25-10 halftime lead. The third quarter turned into a defensive battle as Chesnee won the quarter 5-4 as the Eagles Jamekia Evans opened the quarter with a three but Lewisville's Indy Tobias hit both Lion's shots from the field in the third quarter. The Lions finished the game strong as they outscored the Eagles 7-3 in the fourth as the Lions' Faith Simpson paced Lewisville with five points in the quarter. Chesnee's Kymiah Blair led all scorers with twelve points as seven different Eagles registered a point in the matchup on Monday night. The other scorers for the Eagles included Jessa Beach, Jamekia Evans, Abbey Ray, Hannah Henderson, Logan Lawter, and Brie Smith. "It feels amazing," said Blair about her performance on Monday.
