Christ Church outscored the Chesnee Eagles 40-24 in the 2nd half to win 65-47 in the Eagles season finale. Chesnee Head Coach Andy Pitt was proud of his seniors in their final game, "The seniors did a good job for us throughout the season, all four of them. We could count on them when we needed them. Chesnee was lead by Dez Tate, who had a game high 19 points. Nate Lamb added 10 points for the Eagles. Christ Church was lead by Rayshon Harrison, who scored 17 points. The 6'11" Freshman John Butler scored 13 points for the Cavaliers, and Graham Haley added 12 points. The season may not have ended the way Chesnee Head Coach Andy Pitt wanted to, but he is looking forward to next year. Chesnee has 4 players returning who started multiple games for the Eagles and a JV squad who had a solid year. Coach Pitt has a positive outlook for next season, " We have Dez (Tate) and Ahmad (Smith) coming back, and Kayne (Alexander). We have a talented JV team and they won 10 games this year for the first time since 2012. We are going to keep working and the kids coming up love the game. We have a good foundation, and the seniors left a legacy for the young guys to build on." Girls GameThe Christ Church Lady Cavaliers used a huge 1st half to down the Chesnee Lady Eagles 59-20 in the Lady Eagles final regular season game.
Sierra Bowen and Shenan Bishop led the Lady Eagles with 6 points each. Carley Hammett and Abbey Ray each added 4 points each. Christ Church's Marissa Powe led all scorers with 25 points. Wofford signee Lawren Cook scored 11 points for the Lady Cavs and McCall King added 8 points. Since the St. Joseph's Lady Knights were able to down Greer Middle College to force a tie for 4th place, the Lady Eagles will now play the Lady Knights tomorrow night at 6pm at Landrum in a tie breaker game. Coach Burns is looking forward to playing St Joseph's for the 3rd time this season, "This will be our third game of the week and second against St. Joseph's this week. It is hard to beat any team two times in a row and we will have our work cut out for us. We will not have the advantage of playing at home since we are playing on a neutral site, but I still feel confident we can go out and get the win." Comments are closed.
