COLUMBIA, SC - The Chesnee volleyball team went on the road to the middle of the state on Thursday and when the day was over traveled back up Interstate 26 with a 3-0 victory over Keenan while also punching their ticket to the second round of the 2A playoffs.
"The victory tonight was just a great team effort," said Chesnee head coach Katie Jolley. "Keenan had a strong block game but our girls never gave up and came away with the win." The Eagles, who were a three seed to start the playoffs, didn't allow the number two seed Raiders much of a chance in the match as they won all three sets in pretty impressive fashion. The first and third sets saw the Eagles win 25-19 while also winning the second set with the widest margin of victory at 25-16. Pearl Holloway continued her stellar play for the Eagles registering eight kills, 18 assists, eight digs, and two ace serves. Carlee Turner led the team in kills with nine kills while Olivia Richey added five kills of her own. Haley Edmonds led the Eagles in digs with 15 digs while also adding two ace serves. Mitchell Wofford had a strong night from the service line for the Eagles as she came away with four ace serves. Chesnee will next play on Tuesday as they'll either travel to #1 seed Ninety-Six or host #4 seed Strom Thurmond in the second round of the 2A playoffs. Comments are closed.
