In a battle for first place in Region II-3A, the Chesnee volleyball team fell to region rival Chapman Panthers 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-18) on Wednesday night.
With the loss the Eagles region record is now at 3-1 and are in second place but it's not their last chance to defeat their region rival as the two will meet again on October 9th. While the Eagles fell short in the game they did get some pretty impressive individual performances as Abbey Ray had seven kills, thirteen digs, three aces and two assists. AC Yelton added seven kills and eleven digs while Abby Fisher contributed sixteen assists and nine digs. The varsity game didn't go exactly the way the Eagles wanted but on a positive note the JV team was able to capture a 2-0 victory over Chapman. The Eagles will get a chance to put the loss behind them pretty quickly as they return to action this weekend at the Hub City Classical Tournament. Comments are closed.
