LIBERTY, SC - The Chesnee softball team went on the road and picked up their second region win in as many days as they downed the Liberty12-2 on Wednesday evening.
Jada Sellars drove in the first run for the Eagles in the top of the first inning while Harley Grady and Claire Owens each drove in runs on fielder choices. The Eagles exploded for nine runs in the top of the fifth inning to pull away from the Red Devils. Ansley Blanton and Claire Owens each drove in a run with a RBI single as Natalie Morris hit a pair of RBI singles in the inning. Skylar Barrett delivered the big blow of the inning with a three RBI double. The Eagles also plated two more runs on errors. Chesnee's Bella Rollins picked up the win as she threw a complete game scattering four hits while striking out three and surrendering just one earned run. Chesnee will return to action on Thursday night as they travel to Chapman in a matchup of county rivals with first pitch set for 7:30 PM. Comments are closed.
