LANDRUM, SC - The Chesnee softball team went on the road to Landrum on Monday where they picked up a 10-4 victory over the Cardinals to open up Region II-2A play.
The Eagles got off to a quick start as they scored four runs in the top of the first inning as they were able to score all ten runs before the Cardinals scratched across their first runs of the game. Landrum scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning and tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Harley Grady led the Eagles with two RBIs while Kyleigh Thompson added three hits for Chesnee. Maddie Handy picked up the complete game win for the Eagles as she surrendered four runs while only one was earned and striking out nine Landrum batters. The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday as they will host another region matchup against Blacksburg with a 7:30 PM scheduled first pitch. Comments are closed.
