IVA, SC- Chesnee softball traveled to Crescent High School for The Crescent Softball Tournament over the weekend, which saw the Eagles come away with an even record after playing four games.
They came away with a 2-2 record with wins over Woodruff and West Henderson (NC). The Eagles picked up a win on Friday night that was highlighted by Emily Pruett and Skylar Barrett at the plate with two RBIs each. Maddie Handy earned the 5-2 win over Woodruff with a complete game in the circle that saw her strike out nine. On Saturday, the Eagles fell in the first game to Clover 6-2 as the Eagles got two hits from Aubrey Aparis along with RBIs from Pruett and Barrett. The Eagles won a wild 10-9 game in the second game of the day over West Henderson (NC) to advance out of pool play. Pruett and Jada Sellars had monster games as Pruett had four RBIs along with three hits while Sellars collected five hits, drove in a run and collected an RBI. Pruett was one of three Eagles with three hits in the game as Maddie Handy and Aubrey Aparis each had three hits as well. Handy had a pair of doubles and two RBIs while Aparis scored four times. The Eagles fell in the semifinals to the host team Crescent by a 6-1 score. Brandolin Bearfield collected two hits in the semifinal while Maddie Handy drove in the lone run and Mikayla Cannon hit a double. Natalie Morris caught all five games of the tournament for the Eagles and was steady behind the plate. Chesnee will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Landrum as the first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM. Comments are closed.
