CHESNEE, SC- The Chesnee boys soccer team welcomed the Liberty Red Devils to town on Tuesday and the Eagles were able to come away with a key 3-0 region victory over the Red Devils. Leo De La Cruz netted a pair of goals while Nathan Lewis added a goal of his own as the two accounted for all three of the Eagles goals in the region matchup. Mark Bishop and Tyler Wood combined for a clean sheet in goal as they kept the Red Devils off the board. Chesnee will be back in action on Friday night at Greenville Technical College as the girls will kick off at 5:30pm with the boys game to follow. Eagles Softball Picks Up Road Victory Over Red DevilsLIBERTY, SC- The Chesnee softball picked up a big region win on the road as they downed the Liberty Red Devils 10-2 on Tuesday evening.
Chesnee got a stellar performance in the circle from Maddie Handy as she threw a complete game with eleven strikeouts while scattering three hits for two runs with one of those being unearned. McKenzie Porter had the biggest hit for the Red Devils as she hit a solo homerun on Tuesday night. Handy also led the Eagles with three hits including a double and a RBI while Katie Faith Watson led the Eagles in RBIs as she had four of those to go along with two hits. Brandolin Bearfield, Jada Sellars, and Emily Pruett each had two hits as Pruett and Bearfield each finished with two hits and a RBI. Sellars had a double for one of her two hits. Skylar Barrett and Mikayla Cannon each scored two runs as each batter in the lineup either scored a run, drove in a run, or collected a hit. The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday night as they host Chapman in a double header as the first pitch for game one is set for 5:30 PM. Comments are closed.
