In a matchup between rivals, the Chapman Lady Panthers used a 22-6 lead after the 1st quarter to claim a 63-38 win over the Chesnee Lady Eagles in the Lowe's Roundball Classic Girl's 7th place game. Chapman was led in the championship game by Paige Aho who hit 6 three pointers and finished with 20 points. The Lady Panthers also got great performances from All-Tournament selection Ke'Asia Anderson who had 16 points and from Breana Mabry who had 9 points and 9 rebounds. The Lady Eagles were led by Paige Scruggs who had 14 points and 8 rebounds and Sierra Bowen who added 11 points and collected 11 rebounds. The Lady Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday at 6pm at Brashier Middle College. Chesnee Boy's Finish Fourth At Lowe's Classic Berea used a 21 point effort from Damarcus Leamon to help propel them to a 81-65 victory over the Chesnee Eagles in the Lowe's Roundball Classic 3rd place game. The Bulldogs also got a solid effort from Newa Hashim, who scored 13 points and Jaylan Gordon who added 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
The Eagles were led by Dez Tate who finished with 24 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Nate Lamb also added 20 points for Chesnee. Coach Pitt was proud of his teams effort against a solid Berea squad "I was proud of our effort tonight defensively. Berea is a special team and they will go a long way." Chesnee's Dez Tate and Berea's Damarcus Leamon were selected to the Lowe's Roundball Classic All-Tournament team.
