Chesnee softball need to get a win to likely finish in a two way tie for second in region, and Sam Carver made sure the Lady Eagles got the win with her performance in the circle. The offense came alive behind a 3 RBI night from Becca Watson as the Lady Eagles down the St Josephs Lady Knights 7-0.
Carver struck out 12 and scattered two hits as she kept the Lady Knights off balance at the plate. Carver helped her own cause at the plate as she went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Chesnee Head Coach Ashley Height was proud of the young freshman, "her and Paige (Scruggs) have done well all season, but it is nice to see her peaking now heading towards the postseason and the big games that are coming up." Becca Watson had a big night for the Lady Eagles as she went 2-2 at the plate with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Watson is a difference maker in the Lady Eagle lineup, "Becca is just a monster at the plate. She goes after it everytime, and she is somebody's I can count on to pick the team up." Height said about the young first baseman. Sierra Bowen also had a good night at the plate for the Lady Eagles as she went 2-2 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored. Senior outfielder Madison McSwain went 2-3 with 2 runs scored on Senior Night. The Lady Eagles will be back in action Monday at Chapman at 7pm. Comments are closed.
